I remember back in 03' when I hit absolute rock bottom, I had to sell my entire hockey card collection to pay bills and stuff. It won't happen this time but the thought has crossed my mind alot.

It pained me to sell all of my stuff for like 30-40 cents on the dollar.

sorry about your situation Voorhees. i've been there myself. in fact i put off a great job once cuz my supervisor kept telling me i'd be first in line for another position that would soon be opening up. but when it came down to it, i got laid off instead. pretty cool huh? it was like a kick to the balls. maybe beastman can cheer you up. he too is outraged and wants you to lead him to those responsible:

Just read through this thread and wish all of the ones with bad luck that better times will not be too far away.

Don't give up, the new president may bring a positive atmosphere and things can change.

I even feel a little guilty now for having no financial problems.

I agree Vor, i have not felt this bad in about 6-7 years money wise. My family might have to apply for aid to make ends meet. (makes me feel low) We were semi- comfortable (depending on how you look at it) to now straight up ^^^^ing POOR. No company is going to start me out at almost 20$ an hour. (like before)

And i also agree Bama aint going to be able to do ^^^^. Even Though he's gotta be better than bush he's still a puppet in the grand scheme.

what ease of tension? why dont they bailout the American people??? give everyone Money? heck lets print Money (out of thin air) and bailout the auto industry right? NO! let them go bankrupt! nobody is helping (or bailing out) those that are losing jobs! Heck! they print money like the river flows...Bailout the people!

Obama will only give the illusion that he is easing the tension...the goal is to bankrupt the economy and destroy our currency and introduce a new money system (Amero) or a cashless system where everything will be tracked and traced and leave papertrails....and dont forget merging America,Canada,Mexico into as one country (North American Union)

I have had a bit of a problem fighting it lately anyways. (even before this happened)

The only figs i have left in my collection are SS Luke EP6 And ep4 Ben Kenobi And my bowen Spiderman busts. Thats it. And a M3 Iron Man HT fig that's already paid for on the way. I will not sell these as it will not help in the long run anyways.

Wow, I am honestly surprised you already had cable. I haven't had cable for about 10 years now. OMG! I hadn't even realized it's been so long. Trust me, you won't miss it.

Sorry to hear about everyone's troubles and I hope you all land on your feet as soon as possible.

Like someone else posted, I almost feel guilty for being in a good situation when so many are not. I do feel that the work and life decisions I have made over the last 10 years are what have me in a good situation right now. Thankfully, my wife and I both have pretty much recession proof jobs.

Keep your chins up and search for that silver lining. It's always there, but may not be easy to see.

I hear ya Krayt. I have a feeling that I'm going to get laid off shortly too. I get paid based on contract with my firm. My boss gave a chunk of my territory to someone he personally knows (outside of the company) behind my back (and he still doesn't know that I figured it out for the fear of getting let go). Don't know if he hired her so he can make a couple of extra dollars off of her like he does for another company we work for as a "finders fee." I wouldn't hold it against him. He isn't just unethical, he's downright sneaky. I'm seeing my contracts plummet and I live by myself...It's not fun right now. If the economy was better, I could certainly land on my feet with my degree and contacts...but now. I don't know.
