Times are hard on everyone right now, jobs are being lost, money is scarce... And it's only going to get worse. I keep waiting for the locusts, rivers of blood and zombies...

Not necessarily.... I know that in the past year I have sent off a TON of applications to various jobs. Never got any callbacks. I ended up working minimum wage in a movie theater.

And that is with some college, a High School Diploma AND military service with an honorable discharge.

I couldn't get a job anywhere. And that was 6 months ago, I can't imagine how hard it must be now.

Well,since I am a self-employed contractor I can't really loose my job, but they aren't building any houses within 100 miles of me right now so I call that as un-employed as I can get. And being self-employed there is nowhere for me to go to get unemployment pay, now that sucks! We have been struggling just to survive and keep our house payments going and still be able to actually eat once in awhile. Now, here it is Christmas and we just want to get through it without our little ones hating our guts, if you know what I mean. I hate for them to have to do without, but right now we all are having to do just that.
I am right here with you all gang, somehow things have to get better, I just don't know exactly when and how yet. It is hell to want to work so bad, and there are just no jobs to be had at the moment. L(

You are 100% correct bro... It's rough out there right now. Those who say "Just go out and get a job." are very very uninformed of the situation across the country. People are losing jobs, companies are downsizing to stay in business. It's a scary time.

We had a new biscuit manufacturer opening a factory here. 100 jobs announced. 1500 applicants. Then last month they changed their mind about coming here. It sucks everywhere.

My job is pretty secure but my 401k savings is in the toilet. Down 40K from a year ago. Got enough left in it to buy a Snickers bar. EVERYONE feels this some way or another.
