Actually, anything silent hill and resident evil were super straight forward games. :lol The question is what's wrong with this game.

In the beginning, you were placed amongst a town that was going nuts or a town that was filled with zombies. They didn't tell you **** at the beginning. It started to piece together in RE because it was such a simple story. Silent Hill's story is convoluted as ****. Nobody understood the meaning behind it until their second playthrough.

I'm losing you cause I'm not being clear. You're right those games didn't reveal everything and pretty much everything was a mystery but their plots were easy to follow.

My problem with evil within is that it's been jumping around a lot that it's been hard to follow. At least for me.

I don't even see a plot lol! I really like how there is no story <_< it's just a bunch of random **** going on.

I'm up to chapter 8 now.

Chapter 7 was amazing. It was RE/Silent Hill vibes for sure.

Man, this is discouraging. This is actually the game that was gonna make me buy a PS4.
I've been holding out getting one cause I was still finishing some games I have for the PS3, then if this game
rocks, then its a good reason to finally upgrade to the new gen.
Guess I'm gonna have to wait a while to get a ps4 and just wait til this goes on bargain and may pick it up for ps3.

The story in this was bloody awful. Once I finished the game today I sold it and in retrospect I think it was pretty crap. Ended up being an action fest. Very disappointing.

if he thinks the controls are ****...hes probably one of those who think the controls in the classic RE games were **** too...my 2 cents
I can speed run all the old school RE games. I can speed run all the modern Re games. Ive been playing games all my life, of all kinds. I know how to make chicken salad out of chicken ****. If anything im constantly arguing with people who go back to ps1 games and cant control a characters direction with the D pad because they only know the analogue. The game just doesnt handle well in comparison to same games of similar franchises. Something as simple as doing a melee attack to some crates to smash them open can go wrong.

Im not saying it completely sucks balls. But in the heat of the moment, and theres lots of heats of the moment, it lets you down. I watched a few youtubers play the games for the first two chapters and they encountered it too.

Sometimes, I think some of the stuff he fights and sees is in his mind. His psyche. For sure, I'm guessing when he's in that ...

... ward with that nurse with the eye glasses, that's his mind? Or some crap.

Crap, I can't tell. The game is too psychological. Ain't this game originally titled psycho break?

Sometimes, I can't even discern what time period I'm in. Feels like in the 1940s-50s till I see an LCD or monitor on a desk.

LOU: Remastered and Shadow of Mordor are the games to get a ps4 now atm.

Sadly planning on doing the same once I finish up the story.

As much as I love Last of us, it's just not enough to push me to get ps4 cause I already finished it on ps3.
Once I have a ps4, I may eventually pick it up as it is one of those games I can play again.

Same thing with shadow...I'm curious to play it later on, but for me personally, it's not a game
That would make me jump to a next gen machine for it.

No one here has seen the 2000 movie, The Cell? This is kinda like that

What part of 'you are in the mind of a killer' is really that hard to figure out?

What the hell kinda story are people expecting from a horror game? Name of the game is to confuse, frighten and upset.

What bums me out is it seems to be that people didn't really give this one a chance. Played it? Don't like it....fine....but its not bad at all. Quite the opposite. I've played bad horror games. And to me, this is not one of them

The problem is alot of the initial buzz of this game was that it was meant to put modern Resident Evil in its place. And show us what horror really is. It was a nothing game, but it threw alot of stones at other franchises because of the Shinji Mikami name. It didnt deliver. If it had of been released under the radar it might of got a cult following. But this isnt the experience i want.

I wanted a horror game where... damn its so hard to not type too much in the initial release week. But if i could time travel back to the start and say one sentence of what killed it for me it would of broke the hearts of everybody. Infact ill type it in spoilers, but people be warned if you are early on or havent played. Its not a story point, but its something thats killed it for me.

Fighting the police in the street... day time... armed with machine guns and molotov cocktails. In gameplay as action as any Modern RE. Thats why i say the game killed it for me. It talked itself up about being roots for horror. And yet you are ducking for cover from machine gun fire.

That's what I'm assuming. Ain't this game supposed to be called psycho break?

It does't do any of those very well though.

Ah I see so this game isnt scary then...... great i thought this was supposed to school RE.

Finally started playing this on the PC, and oh boy, this game is very unpolished :lol. The consoles are definitely the way to go for this. I'll be picking it up again when I eventually get a PS4.

PS4 actually, since the XB1 has some major issues as well. It seems to stem from a problematic engine. I just hope the PS4 version will get a performance patch soon but even if it doesn't, I'll still get the game anyway. :lol

For those who are interested, here's an analysis on the performance on PS4, XB1 and to some extent, the PC.
