I started out with a mouse and keyboard. Just cause. I'm thinking about trying it out with a controller. For some reason the mouse sensitivity sucks.

Also, I only played two chapters, and I wasn't really playing with the cheat codes and what not. The game is odd, coming from alien isolation.

So which weapons are worth upgrading? I have points to spend on the pistol, but I am scared that it could be a waste of points if it its going to be useless still later in the game.

for ps3 , nice start, but then... boring and absolutely not scaring..the enemies are ****ing idiots they are not able to see you in a distance of 4 meters..they are slow and fools..i have killed dozen of them approching from behind..
i am NOT playing in easy mode ...I hope in kojima's silent hill because this is ..meh..

I'm only on chapter 2, does it get better?

It get's better, but defiently keeps the agonizing pace throughout so far. I hate this new era of "dying is fun" in video games. No it's not, it's fun to play the ****ing game and get to the next sequence, if I wanted to die 30+ times an an hour I'd just play some other multiplayer game. It's not fun, and it takes you out of the experience, they're really pushing for that creepy horror movie vibe (with the aspect ratio and all the grain) , but it's completely rendered useless when you die so much. It takes you out of the experience. Navigating the chapters is really easy, but when the big boss fights show up (sometimes 3 of them a chapter) and you have absolutely no way to defeat them, can't run etc. It's just plain bad game making.

Am I the only one enjoying this?

I'm enjoying it :) there's just some things wrong with it IMO.

im pretty much exactly the same opinion.. ... Even the IGN review admitted she died over 200 times during that game.. she called it fun.. I call it annoying .. Still.. I like it so far and keep playing

You know, im literally done with this game. Its bad. Really bad. The story, there is no story. You are transporting all over the place. The combat is one of the worst gun-combat games ive ever played ( an enemy can be so close they take up 80% of your screen yet a shotgun blast will fly by them). There is no puzzles, well barely. You could take a retarded kid and show him "3/4/9" on a wall in huge writing and know he needs to do that code IN THE SAME ROOM.

Im done. I just spent 80 minutes on a section of the game where i know what to do. I need to turn a crank, but yet an enemy that wont die keeps killing me during it. You " kill it " for 15 seconds and it respawns and because its super tough it kicks your ass in 2 hits. And its a long drawn out section so you need to spent 10 minutes each time getting to where you were.

Good god this is bad. Really bad. A game should never make you not want to play it because you can see where the developers have thrown in bull***** to be cheap.

Bad combat, the story is... like a monkey went on a copy and paste spree from the dictionary. Settings are lame. Runs like *****. Characters look generic, they have no character. Theres no reason to care for them. Upgrade system at first feels cool. But then you realise later the enemies in the game are invincible so it doesnt mean crap what you do to your guns.

Jesus christ what happened to the franchise to show Resident Evil what survival horror is meant to be? Id happily play Re 6 10 times out of 10 over this. Im so pissed at the game for how long ive waited, and ive played it for 4 days now and theres next to nothing i find redeemable. And stuff i do already exists in other games.

Combat is not that hard, nor bad, imo. Sorry you are not digging this one Kiva. To me its RE4 part 2 as far as controls go. From what I remember, they play very similarly.

Trying my hardest to like this game as i did with resi 6, but as well as the bad camera, the biggest problem that i am having is the amount it zooms in for the over the shoulder camera when aiming, just for the sake of it to be different. It is so unnecessary and ruining the gaming experience for me, would have preferred it like resi4.
Its far too close and frustrating and claustrophobic, but not in a good tense horror way, but in a stupid retarded way. Its making it unplayable for me. At least give people the option to choose a different camera view, or to remove the black bars above the screen, maybe in a patch? But I probably would have traded it in by then. Gahhhhhhh! Been waiting for this game for yonks!

I have also just found out it originally had a very decent over the shoulder cam implemented, and they changed it towards the end! :(
