It's irrelevant if Hibben'a design gets a certain showing or not, he's not special, hundreds of people make contributions to the final cut and some get more screen time than others, it's whatever suits the story and producers intentions.

well if the trailer of Van Damn holding the toothpick knife is what he uses to kill the member then it doesnt do justice to Gil Hibben to not show it in full glory use, like in the extended cut for the first film i didnt apprecite they changed the scene that they made Sly ramming it into the guards throat much briefer then the theatrical cut. in the end of the day they are lowering the ratings to compete with Batman and Avengers so it disappoints me that they sold out to commericailism instead of making it raw and brutal.

You fund the movie then. :lol

Highly doubtful. At the end of the day, a movie half-loaded with 50+ year old tough guys from decades past will never compete with the modern hype films like Batman and Avengers. Are they trying to reach a bigger audience, sure, is that driven solely by money, I highly doubt that because of Sly's reasoning for doing the Expendables in the first place. He set out to bring back the type of action stars and films that definied his career and Arnold's and Willis' and all those guys because they don't happen anymore, he saw guys like Keanu Reeves become action stars and Expendables was his effort to bring back the old days. The first was a very successful film, and I'm sure part of the motivation to pursue a PG-13 rating is make an impact on the younger generations, as not only will under 17 teens get in legitimately, but many parents take kids well under 13 years old to PG-13 movies, which means he could be impacting the tastes of kids as young as 8 or 9. I think Sly and company want to stir as much interest back up in these sorts of films as they can while they're "young" enough to still make them, and I hope it pays off. While my fandom is certainly for the actors themselves like Sly and Arnie, I welcome a new generation if good action stars can emerge, so far the closest we've had have been WWF wannabe actors and I haven't been too impressed, but i hope someone comes along. Statham is probably the only working actor today who really fits into that type of star and I really like him.

:nono Dwayne Johnson isn't a "wannabe." :tap

Different strokes for different folks I guess. IMO he's no worse than those three in action movies.

I just don't enjoy him as an actor like Stallone or Willis or Schwarzenegger.

That's because secretly you wish to belong to our generation and deny your own. Honestly, having been there, I can say Dwayne is a hell of a better actor than either Stallone or Schwarzenegger and I'm a fan of both and like their movies more.

Well I'll admit Stallone's not an "actor" but he's entertaining :)

He is a great writer for film. He's not Shakespeare by any means :lol, but, I think he understands better than a lot of writers just how to touch his audience and reach them and cater to them.

when you read his scripts he does get it's its and you'r and youre mixed up sometimes from what i read on his scripts

having this in pg13 is like one day they will take unreleased michael jackson material and collaborate with Beyonce or Rihanna and take away from the original intent and I am not going to support it because this means Expendables 3 will be pg-13, i cant blame if rourke isnt in it because he made the right choice then

H...huh???

well you all do wahtever you want since its your money but i am not going to patronize this water down garbage even if hot toys comes out with a strahan and lee figure because the base will say EX2 on it, this movie was meant to be rated r and the studio chick norris and twilight made this pg13 shat shell of its original intent. its like having the beetles come back today and making music catering to todays pop bieber beats just to make money sales. dont give me this retro 80s tribute because its not just a facade for them to make money in the name of 80s to draw the fans of the era to this.

If you need F bombs and over the top bloodshed to enjoy a movie, so be it, pass on Exp 2, but the rest of use find more substance to even the first, you could clean that up to be PG-13 and it wouldn't change the movie at all.
