LOL! True! :D
...I'm still willing to take a friendly 'I told you so' wager on this though!

I'll take an "I told you so" bet. Anything more and I won't be able to afford my preorders coming this month. ;)

MR is killing me with their releases this month (4 Star Corps, Shock, Spec. Ops, Obi Elite, Vader SE next month).

Add in the SS Vader, SS Han, SS/W Mumak, Weta Kong v. Rex, and the Predator Flexpayments beginning Feb. 2 and it's easily my most expensive 2 month period ever.:sick

Damn, I also want that Cinemaquette T-800, but it will have to wait a while.

Wow! I am in almost the exact same mess! $4000+ :banghead
MR is really driving me crazy! At least SS has some truly staggered releases and flexpay! MR is nutty this season!

Me thinks its Aragorn, but i'm not too sure. It looks like the curve of a bow on the back of the figure and this is how Aragorn carried his.

The stance isn't very Legolas like. It looks more like Aragorn or Boromir to me. I was hoping for a hobbit but a human (and on the remote chance Elf) will do for now. :D

I think it's most definitely Aragorn. He's holding a sword up in his right hand, and a knife in the other hand. You can see his short bow on his back with the quiver. Definitely Aragorn.
:banana

I'm willing to bet it is Aragorn as Strider, possibly an exclusive with the Elven Cloak via Amon Hen attire. The accessories shadowed appear itendical to those which came packaged with many of the TB Aragorn figures.

looks quite aragon-in-strider-outfit-y to me -- SWWEEEETTTT!!! really wanted to see a frodo, but this would definitely be my 2nd choice -- can't wait to see the preview!!!!! :banana

All this lotr stuff has really got my blood pumping again. I thought I was over it but I was so wrong. The other day I brought home a couple more statues from the shop and oldest daughter 5 looked at me and said "your bringing in more is this ever going to end?" To which I replied "nope!" LOL

Looking at the silhouette, it seems that there is a short bow strapped to the quiver, poking out on both the right and left sides, with an arrow poking out on the right. What I first thought was the shadow of a large bow now seems to be the shadow of a large sword, drawn from the visible scabbard and held up with the right arm, crossing the chest to lift the sword on his left side. Seems more like Aragorn to me now.

I certainly still hope this is Faramir, but I guess that since this is more of a line for the masses, then Aragorn is the safer choice for Sideshow to kick things off with. I guess that since the 1/4 line is for the more hardcore collectors they felt safe starting creatively, with somebody other than the typical Aragorn, Legolas, or Gandalf. The affordable 12" line can have a more predictable start, and show that they can do a character that has been over-merchandised--but produce him better than anybody has seen before. Give the public their Aragorn, but give me my Faramir sooner rather than later, and I'll be happy.

The long "dress" looking thing is really throwing me. Maybe an elven cloak of Strider. Also kink looks loke he has a helm on. I doubt this is is, but would it be nice to have on the the "battle elves" from the prologue of the first movie?

I Just noticed this as well...What I thought was a long bow is a sword...This is most definitely Aragorn as Strider (Ranger) ...There is not a doubt in my mind now. It has his blanket and bow/quiver/arrows, scabbard adn sword.
Sweet!
Wow...That would have been interesting to begin with a character like Faramir, but I figured they would start with Aragorn or Gandalf. Looks like Aragorn it is. :joy

The character in question appears to come with an Exclusive Accessory set of bagpipes.
