Really enjoyed the movie, but the only figures I really find myself interested in getting now are Rey/BB-8, Kylo Ren, and maybe Old Han.

Finn was a really fun character, but not someone I really need to have a figure of (at least for this movie), and Poe just wasn't in it enough.

And yeah... like a lot of others I will definitely be dropping that Phasma PO. She had a really cool presence early on, but barely appeared again and her final scene (while working perfectly well storywise) just completely undercut any appeal she had.

Saw it Thursday night and absolutely loved every second of it!!! Goosebumps, tears, joy, laughter, more tears, more goosebumps. It was amazing!!! JJ nailed the charm of the Originals more than I thought anyone could. Huge thanks to him for bringing back Star Wars :clap:clap:clap:clap

For those interested, read my theories about Rey, Poe, Luke, Phasma, and a new character that no one is talking about...

I know a lot of people are complain about Phasma, and fine i understand, she didnt have a huge role. But i think she will later on as most of us think. Either way she looks really cool and I will definitely be collecting her figures for years to come. Plus i love Gwendolyn, so Im happy to collect a figure of her :)

But people are talking about the next Boba Fett. There wont be anyone who will ever capture what Boba was back in the day, that was a phenomena that just can't really be matched.

but I have a feeling there will be someone very much like his character, that but its not Phasma. I have a feeling it might be Bazine Netal. Most of you may not know her name yet, but she was in Maz's cantina and she is the female character that called in BB-8 was hanging out there. And in reading more about her, they already have an eBook about her characters background. She is a bounty hunter and a kick ass one. Shes a master of disguise and cares about no one but herself...So i think she may play a bigger role later on. You can read a little about her here: https://geekdad.com/2015/11/the-perfect-weapon/

And Poe will probably have a larger role too. Anyone read the recent 4 comic book series Shattered Empire? It focused on right after RoTJ, immediately after, and it was mainly about Poe's parents, especially his mother. She was really the main character in the comic. My sleeper theory is Rey is Poe's sister. And i have my reasons, but I recommend reading Shattered Empire. Lets just say Luke and Poe's mother knew each other...but i'll add not in a way you are thinking....Ill add, I think Luke gets emotional at the end not because Rey is his daughter, but he sees Rey and sees Poe's mother who he knew 30 years ago. I think Luke is a Jedi Master and he wouldnt have a family or spouse. But instead he loved Poe's mother. Maybe they did have a relationship and thats why Rey is strong with the force? I have no idea, but just some stuff to think about...

but for now, unless something is revealed officially, I have a feeling Poe and Rey are brother and sister...One little hint is Poe is the best pilot in the galaxy and Rey flying the Falcon discovers she is a great pilot too. Runs in the family :)

But maybe they will do something else with it..I could be completely wrong..im not saying i figured anything out. Just some theories i am thinking about since i saw the film and read the comics :)

I really like that theory morphosis ;)

Before seeing the movie I thought I would want Rey, BB-8, Phasma and Poe. After watching I may be content with just Rey.

How do you get goosebumps? I didn't even felt a single one throughout the movie.

I did and even cried while watching Creed. That is nostalgia at its finest but that's not the case for TFA.

Loved the movie but not sure what I'll pick up. Thinking I might wait and see if they do a final battle Kylo as I feel that's the most iconic look and figure to encapsulate this film. Love the look of Phasma and hope she has a larger role going forward. If everyone drops their preorders and she gets to man of steel level pricing I'll pick her up.

What's the red herring? She's the armoured lacky of the badguys that'll likely appear in subsequent episodes. Like Fett.
I didn't mind she gave the code to shut down the base. No one dies for a cause like that. Just feel she should have been the one to parry a lightsaber for FIRST time. Before that we assumed lightsabers could cut through anything except another lightsaber. Would have made her cool instantly. Must be a reason though. I think either a subplot that was edited out or continuing later between Finn & Phasma.

The red herring is the fact that we are all discussing that she is a Boba Fett equivalent as far as narrative goes. That is beyond intentional. It creates mystery and curiosity to the fate of the character; it's no mistake that they didn't show her die. By delivering her as a Boba Fett-esque entity, we are all supposed to be "surprised" when she returns as a main antagonist. Plus, Christie is a big name now, you don't hire an actress like that for a one off lackey role. It doesn't make sense.

I didn't think the movie was perfect, but I still found it pretty darn magical when Han and Chewie first appeared on screen, and when Luke appears at the end. Not sure how anyone could not be wowed by any of that.

I'm still wondering how is it possible for some Star Wars fans to say TFA sucked, being crap, or the worst of all SW movies. We know it is not perfect, but still to be that bad? If you are a true SW fan, how can you not enjoy at least a bit of it?

True. You have to enjoy at least some of it. Seeing the falcon flying about in combat was awesome and seeing Luke again and lightsabre battles are cool.

But having reflected over night I'm dissapointed. And I feared I would be. Twenty off years of dark horse and books have continued the story for me. This actually makes me feel the same way the legacy comic series did. It's nice and well made but it's not "my" Star Wars.

I'll watch them- my kids really enjoyed it - but it will be an alternative universe in my head.

Some great bits and. It could have worked so well maybe if they had made them 10 years ago when han etc etc could have been more involved?

As for figures as I posted before. Luke is a purchase. Anything else? Doubtful. I'm sticking to the OT

I'm a HUGE Original Trilogy fan. I don't like the Prequels. And I like TFA. Not comparable to OT, but I like it. Still I will only collect OT Imperials like before, even when Rogue One comes. I know TFA has its own problems, but I'm finally glad to see a true SW movie.

I enjoyed it.

But won't be buying any HT figures of the new characters. Perhaps I'll buy figuarts of Rey and BB and Old Luke. I might be tempted to buy a HT old Luke though.

Movie was good, but like others I'm sticking to the OT figures. TFA just wasn't up to par with the OT.

A little off topic but quick question: were the tentacled cgi monsters they fought in this one the same creature we saw in the trash compactor in ANH?

There's just isn't any magic in TFA, sure there are plenty of ways to be nostalgic. But instead they just threw their wild cards randomly and expect an reaction? Really? The OT characters just randomly shown up which are all really predictable.

Of course not. That was a Dianoga, these are Rathtars.

I can't disagree enough. Maybe there's just too many references...if they dropped a 10% the movie would have been more balanced.
Also random things can't be predictable by definition. :pfft:

Yeah, OT figures are the ones I'll be only collecting. The force awakens was good, the Starkiller Base was just there, it could have been cut I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I loved TFA and if I had unlimited funds and space, I'd buy them all... but keeping it OT is a way of controlling the spending... from a certain point of view.

The one thing I hated the most is the way they handle Han's death.

They shouldn't have reveal that Han is Kylo's father that early. (When Snoke goes "Blar blar blar, your father." He should have just stopped there.) And I somewhat knew that Han is going to get stabbed during a hug scene.

Kylo should not have removed his mask that early when he mentions about Vader as his grandfather, that would make everyone think that he is either Luke's or Leia's son.

Then the scene where Han calls out Ben could be the highlight of the movie! And this should be the moment Kylo reveals his face.

Lol in 5 years this will end up bashed like Titanic and Avatar. The writing is already on the wall with the negative comments becoming more and more common.
