Another thing that connects Poe and Rey is how Poe was basically the Leia of the movie and got bb8 to deliver a message, Rey then found the droid mirroring Luke with R2. I really hope she turns out to be Luke's daughter

Ya, that too. Theres a lot of connections with ANH.

And that was definitely done on purpose and I love it!!!

I think there is a Skywalker connection. I think also too when he sees Rey and gets emotional at the end, it might not be because its his daughter, it could be because he knows its Shara Bey's daughter who was his friend. But he still could be the father? who knows? Shara's husband may have died early on, who knows?

its just a theory. And i could be 100% wrong. I just see some connections and I have to think Shattered Empire has some meaning.

One last thing i was thinking about too...

"Rogue One "is due out in 2016, and it takes place right before ANH and the lead character is a young woman played by Felicity Jones. They haven't announced her characters name yet....But what are the odds it Poe's Mother when she's young? :)

Plus Poe"s mother died when he was nine, so actually the theory of them being brother and sister is 100% impossible.

I just don't understand why everything in the Star Wars universe has to be interconnected. Its ok if the main characters are not all the kids of kids of kids. In my mind it's lazy writing and too predictable. TFA was so thin on original plot already I am hoping whomever is writing 8 and 9 take some creative liberties.

Damn your right. Shara Bey died 7 years after the Battle of Endor. Poe was born 2 years before Battle of Endor and Rey is born 15 Years after Battle of Endor. Just looked it up. I didnt think Poe and Rey were that far apart.

Oh well, my theory shot. :) back to the festivities.

I still think Rey is Luke's daughter, but I would have thought she would have said something like "Dad?" when Luke turned around if that was the case. She was old enough to remember who dropped her off on Jakku so unless she only knew her mother, I don't know why she wouldn't have recognized her father on sight, even if she knew him by a different name before her abandonment. In any case, her parentage will certainly play a key role in the upcoming films.

I hope that Hot Toys releases Maz Kanata, the "Edna Mode" Cantina owner figure as well. :wink1:

The thread title says Spoilers (yet people are using Spoiler tags) so I'm going to predict freely.

I think Rey is Luke's daughter, I mean it was pretty heavy-handed even with her putting on what looked to be Luke's old X-Wing helmet on while just decompressing on Jakku and the whole lightsaber calling to her, etc. Not to mention the whole "The Force is strong in my family" wasn't used (then again it could have been a cut scene referring to Kylo/Ben.) What I think will happen is that the person who dropped off Rey is her mother and she hasn't seen him since then. That she didn't know that her father was Luke Skywalker as they were trying to keep her safe. I mean Snoke seems to have it in for Luke so it'd make sense if he had children that they'd be hidden and it'd be a nice history repeating itself. That Snoke was such a threat that Luke couldn't risk him knowing that he had children because he'd come after them and so Rey could have never met her father but that her mother was watching over her and when Luke seemed to have lost again Snoke and the First Order, that a signal was sent to hide her. I wouldn't even be shocked if we got a "Your father will return for you, just be a good girl" kind of flashback that set up the tally marks. It sets up a conflict for the two to be handled from here on out.

Am I the only who thinks there shouldn't be any love interest between Rey/Finn/Poe? I want them to just have fun and adventures together where there isn't any forced love between them.

I hope there's no love story either, I just want them to be best buds.

They can introduce new characters who they can get romantically involved with... but I dunno. They apparently cast an actress already for Ep 8 so maybe she will be linked to one of them. :dunno

I felt sorry for those who kept defending this mediocre film, which is just riding on the name of the franchise.

Sure the film didn't go as what the OT fans would like it to be. But give this film another title and no one would bat an eye.
