Just saw and loved it. While not a massively original story, it was highly entertaining. Lisbeth was absolutely badass. Trent Reznor is my favorite musician so naturally I was excited to see this. Additionally, Fincher did Se7en, probably one of the most awesomely disturbing movies I have seen, so I knew it was going to be good.

Things I loved:
1. Opening credits! Fincher and Trent make an amazing team. First Se7en, and now this. Social Network was great too, but not on this level
2. Lisbeth and her ass-ets
3. "may I kill him?"
4. How 2.5 hours went by so quickly

Perfect assessment! Pretty much everything I thought but I did think Social Network was on par.

Reinhardt! Long no see man! Where have you been?:lol

Heya! I've been having a kid, getting ready for #2, having endless contract work done on our home, working 12 hour days... somewhere in there Sideshow dropped in priority. Shame on me!

Perfect assessment! Pretty much everything I thought but I did think Social Network was on par.
LOVED Social Network. I was only referring to the opening credits, which I thought while highly appropriate for the movie, was not the beautifully disturbing images that Dragon and Se7en presented.

Btw, my favorite track of the soundtrack... so far.

Love it. Fincher made it again, strong movie and hope to see the next one!

as for the public... I'm from Argentina and at the beginning of the film the cinema was full, but after some scenes some people went out.... I don't understand, one entire family was sitting next to me and my girl, with they 2 kids (16/17 years old) and after the rape, the went off... Man, I dont understand.. the people doesnt read nothing about the movie they will go to see?

This move isn't for all... like seven...

Good movie from an average story.

This. I really loved this movie. And really showcased my favorite things about film. Characters. Cinematography, and direction.

Story wasn't special. But I stopped caring after a while. I enjoyed the characters. Especially Lizabeth. I was very wrong about Roony. After Nightmare on Elm Street, I was ready to write her off. Glad I didn't. Brilliant actress.

Fincher is still on top. As he's always been. Pretty damn great movie.

9/10

New update on possible sequels

MGM Loses Money on 'Dragon Tattoo'

MGM said Thursday that it expects to lose money on "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

MGM execs told investors that would only co-finance the next two sequels in the Stieg Larsson's "Millennium Trilogy" if it can achieve "better economics."

"Dragon Tattoo," distributed by Sony, generated more than $230 million worldwide, but not enough to pay back MGM for its investment. The movie carried a $100 million production budget.

“While this is a solid result, it is below our expectations and we booked a modest loss," CEO Gary Barber said during a conference call with investors.

The studio has an option to co-finance film adaptations of the next two books in the series. MGM said it expects to turn a profit on last weekend's "21 Jump Street" and that it has an option to participate in the sequel that Sony is developing.

They can probably save some money on marketing. This movie was apsolutly everywhere for like 6 months before it came out.

It would be a real shame if they did not make the next two books into movies.

I think they were expecting it to be a global phenomenon the same way that the books were; seeing as how much they promoted the thing and hyped it up as if it was supposed to be the movie event of a generation or something.

Yea, I agree. If anything I loved the american version more. The originals were good films, but there was definatly room for improvement. In general the plot seemed a bit rushed. And the bare bones cinematography/atmosphere left something to be desired. Plus I much prefer Rooney's take on Lisbeth. Noomi was great, but I always thought she seemed to angry and intense (clearly someone you shouldn't _____k with) for a girl who was supposed to be underestimated and mistaken for retarded.
