Not that I can ever see that they will make them, but i think it would be pretty cool if they made 1:6 of Lisbeth Salander (Noomi or Rooney). Would anyone else buy her if they made one?

I'd get it is it was the American film version of Lisbeth and Hot Toys made it.

They could make just her and be done with the line, they've done stranger things before....so I wouldn't say it is out of the question.

yah, it was just something I was thinking about :)...But it seems like Larsson's family is very particular when it comes to marketing Steig's books, and they probably wouldn't allow the rights to do something like toys. If you watch the Swedish extras and the documentary with his brother and father, you will see what I mean.

The whole controversy with the brother and father is another matter - but you're right in that the situation would make any kind of merchandising difficult.

Yea, there has been alot of stuff going on with the Laarson family.
For example, most of the 4th novel was completed by Stiegg before his death (apparently to the point where any competant ghostwriter could fill in the hole and make a full novel out of it), but they are so protective that they won't allow it to be released.

I heard is girlfriend has the 4th novel and plans to release it because the "family" cut her out.

It would be a damn shame if sequels weren't made :(

After watching the 2nd and 3rd films, I know about that.

There were meant to be 10 novels in the Millenium series, so it would likely be that a fourth novel is only part of a story. I don't see much point in releasing it if it finishes with a lot of loose ends.

Thankfully book 3 finished the story, it would have been a nightmare if book 2 had been the last book written.

yeah..that being said people still wanna rag on it because it's an american version. In this day where everything is remade and bastardized, at least this was a really respectable, stylish and, from what i've heard, true to the source material.

this movie was great. I'm sure fincher will be back.

for me, since i liked the stories so much, I didn't mind they re-made then with with one of the best directors in film and a great cast. If they went all low budget with it and put no care into it, then I wouldn't be so happy. But the Fincher's version was breath taking. Just so well done. And Rooney was really great!

also, the Swedish originals are amazing and I love them as well, but there are people who don't like to read subtitle movies, so there is a whole audience those movies aren't reaching.

And yes, Fincher was very true to the book. But actually the swedish movies of 2 & 3 had a lot of differences from the books. I hope that if Fincher does 2 & 3 he sticks to the books more than the Swedish versions did.

It's sad that many people would rather see Bay's Transformers than this masterpiece..

Amen.

:exactly::exactly:

Loved this movie but I would rather Fincher moved onto something new. 20,000 Leagues should be his next project.

I was thinking about it. It might be cool to have a character like her on display. she's sort of like a more smart and controlled, less rash travis bickle type of anti-hero.

it never once entered my mind as a possibility but now that i think about it but i think i'd get one for sure

My 1/6 collection is a sausage factory. Seriously i have princess leia, sarah connor, Marla from FCand silk specter and like 50 guys.

To add more fuel to the fire that's not needed I saw the Fincher film firs then the Swedish one.

Fincher one just destroys it in all ways. Seriously i cant think of one plus except maybe the characterization of Lisbeth is a little better but the actress was nowhere near as interesting.

Now I did think the Sweedish one was a good film mind you, but the US version is...

- Better actors
- Better cinematography
- better direction
- better score
- better location shots
- better action

enough to quantify a better movie.

Well, a bigger budget will do that. And I don't know any overseas studio that can stand up to the resources of a U.S. movie studio.

Not disagreeing with you, just making a statement / observation.
