I really hate to rain on anyone's parade, but let's keep the discussions of unrelated figures in the threads where they rightfully belong. Thanks, guys! :)

I'm very glad to hear that Rainman may be back to the gunmen theme again soon. He has gotten a pretty enthusiastic crowd of fans here lately, and some of us are sure to be back for more. "If you build it, they will come." ... cash in hand! lol

Tuco had a lot of wide-eyed expressions, with as many grimaces and snarls that showed off that silver tooth a lot. I'd love to have a head sculpt of Tuco like that. He also wore a woolen fleece vest and white corduroy pants with short leather chaps in the early part of the movie. Add the sombrero and the woven sarape he wore later on and you'd have another great version of Tuco.

Bounty hunter Clint would also be great with the different patterned shirt, black scarf, long duster and different hat and boots, not to mention the rifle and Colt Navy the first version of him did not have. I really hope Rainman will at least give them some serious consideration at some point... hopefully when I can afford one again! lol

I don't suppose he'd do another version of Angel Eyes, but I'd definitely go for it if he did. Guess I'll have to wait for another opportunity to add Setenza to my collection... :( :monkey2

Along with Mudshark, I am looking forward to when Rainman gets back to the Gunmen as well. I feel he still has to finish the trio with a Bounty Hunter Blondie from GBU. I would say his Clint is Manco from "For A Few Dollars More", with the leather wrist band, Rattler handled Colt 45 and saddle bag, along with Colonel Mortimer as a pair set.
I agree with MS that Blondie should have his rifle, whether it be the yellow boy with scope or the Spencer at the end of the movie and his Rattler handled Navy Colt. I"ll have to say Velvet Morning's Blondie seems to be addressing that point and a better likeness to Clint IMHO.

For those who haven't seen the "Dollars" Trilogy, or would like to revisit them, all three are up on Youtube right now.

I'm just glad that these films are still garnering attention, praise, and admiration. Recent films really pale in comparison. And I'm also quite pleased that rather excellent customs are being produced here. Thank you.

:monkey2 :monkey2 ...but it was my idea...:monkey2

:D

Oh man, sorry about that. I was going off memory, but I'm approaching 40 now, so I guess the memory ain't so good anymore.

As for Rainman returning to the gunmen, I also hope for a revisit to "The Good The Bad And The Ugly" for a different Tuco and Bounty Hunter Blondie (hopefully with two head sculpts - one without a hat).

I would feel pretty complete about 1/6 GBU after that. :)

i love the idea of another blondie by rainman. hopefully he does another tuco too for the guys who missed it. but.... in all honestly we need a charles bronson harmonica and henry fonda frank

Hey just had to drop in to say I am extremely jealous, normally hate 1/6 but if I had a shot at these I'd be a proud owner!!!

I checked out the Rainman site and was blown away. The choices in characters are extremely good too. Wish Sideshow had that kind of sensibility when choosing projects!

Amazing figures guys. I can hear the Ennio Morricone soundtrack haunting me when I look at your pics.

Hell yea I go for that!!! Bronson and Fonda from "once upon a time in the west" would be GREAT

As far as the gunmen series goes, I'd love a William Munny. Unforgiven is at the tops with TGTBATU for the greatest western of all time in my opinion.

1) Bounty Hunter Blondie - Eastwood
2) William Blake/Dead Man - Depp
3) Poncho Tuco -Wallach

Those are the only 3 Western figures I think I'd get. Unforgiven, OUaTitW, Tombstone, Wild Bunch, Magnificent 7 are all great films but I'm not so eager to have 1/6 figs of them.

yeah lets keep releasing varients of gbu and cast all of the other great films aside....

Whats so great about Dead Man? Care to explain why it's reigned so high in the world of western cinema? Did it win any awards? Is there a cult following? Is it regarded as a masterpiece?....

1. Harmonica - Bronson
2. Frank - Fonda
3. Bounty Hunter Blondie - Eastwood [only because I missed the original Blondie]

Yes, it's a masterpiece (but as with all films YMMV) and is often studied in film schools. It's king of the Acid Westerns, a sub-genre of the Western film that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s that combined the metaphorical ambitions of top-shelf Westerns, like Shane and The Searchers, with the excesses of the Spaghetti Westerns and the outlook of the counter-culture. Acid Westerns subvert many of the conventions of earlier Westerns to "conjure up a crazed version of autodestructive white America at its most solipsistic, hankering after its own lost origins."

It's such a haunting and unusual film, funny and dark and smartly written. Jarmusch's gorgeous black and white distopian landscapes and electric guitar score by Neil Young work as sublimely as the Leone/Morricone duo. It builds upon the genre history and brings something new to the table, subverting expectations while still embracing traditional Western elements. I love William Blake and the poetic and existential implications the confused identities brings to the story. Add in an all star cast, Depp, Robert Mitchum in his last role, Cripsin Glover, John Hurt, Gabriel Byrne, Billy Bob Thornton, Iggy Pop in a hilarious and creepy bit, and Lance Henrikson playing a greasy baddie rivaling Frank or Angel Eyes. It's also notable as one of the rather few films about Native Americans to be directed by a non-native and offer nuanced and considerate details of the individual differences between Native American tribes free of common stereotypes. There are intentionally unsubtitled passages in the Cree and Blackfoot language exchanges in Dead Man, which were left untranslated for the exclusive understanding of members of those nations, including several in-jokes aimed at Native American viewers.

Plus, his costume is really cool and would look amazing in 1:6. :chew

i rarely find someone who's attitude and posts i find continuously obnoxious and combative. but i think i find that in you. i'm sure many other people are thinking it, but don't say it. it's incredible how you contradict yourself in this post. you admonish people for wanting GBU variants, but blondie is on your list, coz YOU missed one. interesting (and selfish) logic there.

and dead man is an incredible film. entropy chicken couldn't have put it better as to why it deserves its accolades. and there certainly is a cult following, and awards mean ???? thesedays. even though i love tombstone as a film more, i would put a jonny depp from dead man at the top of my list. his character had a uniqueness and depth you rarely find in films.

admonish people? i suggest you take a further reading. your entrophy chicken is the one who repeatedly casts people's opinions aside. he constantly says their ideas are not something that he would even consider buying... is that not competitive? btw look a few pages back im all for the gbu variants in fact im all for anything but I simply cant stand entrophy's disregard for other people's opinions... he does this all over this thread and he was doing the same thing on rainman's thread. so take a hike

1. Doc Holiday - Kilmer
2. Wyatt Earp - Russell
3. the Bad guy - Biehn

All from Tombstone.

I'd like to see these guys done, too some day (in the same order of preference) as well as some of the other characters mentioned elsewhere. I really wish Hot Toys would get into the Western film genre at some point, they'd no doubt make some great figures.

The bad guy MB played was Johnny Ringo, by the way, who he portrayed to creepy perfection, not surprisingly. But in the end he "wasn't a daisy after all, he was just high strung". Poor little Johnny... :monkey2 :gun

Johnny Ringo! That's right. Damn, I wish Michael Biehn got more accolades for his acting... Kyle Reese, Lt. Coffey, Johnny Ringo - Fantastic roles!!!

I'll second that. Micheal Biehn is great. Probably one of the most underrated actors out there. I would love a Johnny Ringo 1/6.
