Thanks again WG, some nice shots. I can tell from that close up that he actually will look pretty decent IN HAND... with the macro lens distortion factored in.

but a light sanding of the beard is in order... I think it will make a world of difference.

It's one of the oddest paint jobs I've seen yet... like someone took some sandpaper to him already.

But, again, from afar it looks fine... just like every other head sculpt.

Yeah, when you zoom in(big time) on the face it doesn't help it IMO on even the best figures. However, it does look to be a very nice figure.

WorGar, how are you shooting your closeups, with the lens close to the face, or do you zoom the lens in as much as possible and then bring the face into focus. If your camera can do it, your best bet for closeups on these figures' portraits is to zoom your camera fully and if need be move closer to the figure, but using the lens zoom and not physical proximity to the subject will lessen the distortion.

Are you gonna do any Wor Gar magic with the beard like you did with Aragorn? Boy that REALLY came out looking great.

No, I have an ancient camera, old technology from way back in 2001. :D It's a little digital elf, but its magic has since left.

Here's kind of a good one...

Faramir likes flat light.

Yeah Pjam, I'll probably wipe his beard down with very light sandpaper to kill the sheen.

Was Faramir's cloak really green? Or was that lighting and filters? In some picturs it looks brown/gray like the SS one.

Wow.....that looks, bad:monkey2

Why is his hair 2 totally different shades?? It looks like he has a wig on!!?!?!?

The problem with a close-up like this is that it shows the head at almost twice the actual size so such a large pic shows how awful the paint ap looks (at that viewing level). In actual size it looks fine (at least to me) and the flaws aren't as noticable.

Nice shot, I think you answered a lot of questions with this, thanks.

Thanks P. Yes, that shot is more what you can expect from this figure. It's very solid, certainly not a disappointment -- only the shiny skin tone and brown cloak instead of green are at issue; things that can easily be fixed with a little care and some RIT green dye.

Overall, the costume alone is worth the price of admission.

I wonder if the fading shine on the face is similar to the Jabba figures, I don't know how many got Jabba, but those that did will remember the "wet" paint on his arms, like he was shipped out real fast from the factory, maybe Faramir's shipped a bit sooner than they should have or something.

Captain...good first round there...cell phone or not. Good pose. Try taking him outside in indirect light for a couple of phone-snaps and see how it goes...

DarthCruel...I like your outdoor shots, especially the pose...wow, he really can pose realistically aiming that oversized bow!

Wor-Gar...you've convinced me...I'll give the cloak a water treatment to get that great effect you have going in that last picture. Looks great...

I'm still amazed at how dark the hair paint apps are...even on the box art, his hair is significantly lighter. And it's probably just the pictures, but that hair is looking a little "helmet-like"...hopefully that's not as pronounced "in-hand"...

Wor-Gar...any chance of getting the two brothers lined up side by side on the kitchen counter for a shot?

Wow, that looks like crap!

Mine is definitely going to get a repaint. What I want to know is who decided the colors and paint apps for this one?! The hair is ca-ca brown and doesn't even match that weirdly painted beard in color.

Aside from the horrible paint apps on the headsculpt, this figure looks to be a 9/10.

Sideshow is batting .500 with the paint apps on the LOTR headsculpts so far:

Aragorn: Pop-up to short center field.
Legolas: a line-drive to the gap; standing double.
Boromir: a screaming rope down the first base line; stretched to a triple.
Faramir: struck out looking...

I disagree. The only shot I've seen where it looks "off" is WG close up which is not a fair pic to really judge by because how many of us look at it that close.

From the far off shots he looks 2 be pretty good which in the end is how most people are gonna judge it. Aragorn isn't that bad either IMO. Could he be better? Sure but I don't think this line has had too many issues other than a lack of figures.
