Yeah, he's finally starting to ship it seems. Can't say I could be any happier about that.

The figure does look great and I just received my 10 day auth notice also.

However, I've got to agree with Darren that from the images so far the paint looks a little darker than it should. Dark brown hair, dark beard - not quite like the proto paint, but unfortunately it never is.

So I'm very happy he's on his way and very happy that the cap'n is so happy - though I don't think that's much of a surprise.

If he does need to be repainted to match the proto, I don't mind because everything else about the figure looks brilliant and I can always handle a repaint.



Are you getting this guy too Darren, or just sticking with the Fellowship? Just curious if you would be customizing as you have with the others.

nah fellowship for me... I never had any interest in Fawameer as something to own. The outfit and sculpt looks cool from what I've seen so far on pics. And if he does need a repaint, hopefully it'll be subtle enough that people can do their own pieces

Paid $83 for Legolas and was absolutely shocked! Don't understand why they get shipped in a box that would fit 2 similar figures.
The shipping is for FedEx to the land DownUnder.

$83?!?!? That's just wrong! Sorry to hear that my friend, hope you find a sweet deal sometime along the road so you can enjoy these two. Boromir is great, and Faramir is going to be even better. Hope you can find a way.

Also, I hope we start seeing more pics too, especially from some different angles. It doesn't help that the pics we have are with direct lighting in a full frontal view. Man I can't wait for him to come!

If I were loaded I would pass the statue over to you anytime, as I don't think this board has a more committed Faramir fan than you.
I reckon Sideshow should give you one for free, just for sheer enthusiasm and dedication to a good cause. You have shown your honour!

Thanks, that's real nice of you! You really deserve a break for prices, it's just not fair that you have to pay so much there. Hopefully someday. I know Sideshow is giving some lucky person a free Faramir (or so they said half a year ago when the pre-order happened), but it wasn't me. Oh well, at least I'm still getting one! I'll be broke for a few weeks, but it is SO worth it!

I've desperately tried to get excited about getting Faramir, and, try as I might, I just can't. So, tonight he got the axe in favor of being halfway to getting the Hot Toys Robocop 3 (with flightpack).

I'll be all over a 1:6 Gandalf or Saruman, though; I'd even be up for buying Saruman's black pillar thingey as an accessory pack... c'mon Sideshow!

Yep. I have the same problem (Australian). Unfortunately the local retailers jack the price up to much the same end point so I always get the exclusive and get it shipped over. The only thing I haven't done so was Jabba & His Throne - I got Jabba & the creature pack locally now I'm having some difficulty getting just the throne ;p

Sideshow's apparent lack of understanding how international shipping is calculated is a real pain in the ass. Its very annoying to get a huge box that is 3/4 empty when you are being charged based on volume.

That's just not fair. They should make an international version; keep the boxes small and compact to save costs and help out the international customers. I feel bad for you guys!
