Yep - got mine about then too.

Would it be possible for us to set up some sort of system to help out our friends from overseas? Maybe have it delivered to a fellow freak and then they could mail it in an appropriate and more cost effective manner? It sucks that you guys have to miss out on exclusives because of the insane shipping costs.

I'd be happy to help out.

Mine got the ax today. I really wanted him, but I need to cut expenses somewhere, unfortunately he was the one that got the boot. Might pick up the regular down the line.

Same here... while i thought the figure was not bad at all. But my finances are pretty tight at the moment and i decided to stick to my original plan of collecting just the fellowship characters first. Might pick up the regular edition of Faramir in the distant future.

I'm right down here in Singapore, while not exactly as bad as you guys but still not far off too in terms of high shipping costs. The only solution that i foresee will be most probable to happen will be that SS decides to have a warehouse somewhere in Asia.

Any other ideas like combining orders to a single customer who will then pass it on will never ever happen. Because SS's policy on shipping addresses and credit card fraud prevention etc... are very very strict. Orders cannot be combined with other customers' and orders can only be sent to 2 addresses, account holder's home and office. They are very clear and strict on that.

I'm really feeling the need to go watch TTT again! I want to see Faramir in action. Perhaps it will suade me from getting Plo Koon instead.

Great idea! I'm doing the same thing to get myself ready for his arrival. Much as I love Plo, Faramir just has so much more depth and importance to me that he will of course come first. His costume is just brilliantly done, and he's a figure that has a lot more life to it. I'm gonna watch the films again tonight. As far as TTT goes, the extended version does help out the catastrophe that was Faramir in the regular version, and I've learned to deeply appreciate the film version, especially with those beautiful scenes in ROTK. He's not as big a player in the films as he is in the books, but he's still one of the most influential non-Fellowship characters. Those scenes of the defence at Osgiliath have the best Faramir action in the films (though sadly it's still far too brief!).

I agree about the extended cuts. They are much better, and the scene with Faramir and Borrimir in TTT is great because reconnects you with Boromir instead of leaving him solely in the FOTR and it sets up the distain their father holds for Faramir. I think had Faramir gone instead of his brother things would've turned out considerably different for the Fellowship.

In the end I'll either flip a coin or just go with whoever is cheapest at the time. In both cases I HAVE to get the exclusives!!! Both rock!

I agree with you Captain that the movie did not do Faramir justice. In the books, he deduced Frodo's mission and what happened with Boromir but understood the DOOM of the ring. In the books Faramir was greatly loved by his people and was selfless.

But in TTT, Faramir showed hardly any of those qualities. I would have loved to see the word play between Faramir and Frodo on the big screen. I didn't like the movie Faramir very much.

Don't take offence to this captain as I'm anxiously awaiting Faramir's arrival as well---- in thinking about the character and the awesome 12" that SS is releasing I realized that I think I would have preferred him looking more like he does in ROTK before he rides out to what looks like certain doom. Don't get me wrong--- TTT is my favourite of the trilogy but I think it would have been a better look for the movie Faramir to be in his Minus Tirith (sp?) armour.

Having said that I still think this Faramir is going to be exceptional and another home run for the LOTR 1/6 line... which brings the question, is another pre-order announcement on the horizon or are we about to have a lull?

Once Faramir ships, there will be no other pending LOTR 12" figures...
:monkey2

(unless, of course, SS announces a new fig & puts it for pre-order in the next 2 weeks...)

Woot! Got mine to along with my UPS tracking number. My scheduled day of delivery is the 18th! :chew :chew :chew

Of course with my Faramir order being fullfilled I only will have two other items on order (Crack of Doom Diorama and Ash PF). Oh well, at least I'm saving money with my lack of items on order hehe.

Outstanding!! I'm excited for Captain Faramir since I know he really wants this. However, as a HUGE LOTR fan I'm so excited to get this figure and add another high quality LOTR item to my collection.

I'm excited, but like many others, also saddened but this will be it for now because there are no more announcements, at least with Sarah in the Terminator line, I felt the core characters were done enough, but for John, so there was no real sadness when I got her, but with Faramir, there's a lingering grey cloud of where the line is going, when will we see beloved characters like Gandalf, I know they said the line isn't dead, but like Faramir watching the coming storm of Mordor, I feel we and our 1/6 Faramirs will be watching the coming storm of ill fate for the 1/6 LOTR line.

Because this page doesn't have a picture on it yet:

So uh Faramir, how many of these guys did you buy? I'd hate to see your house. It must be a shrine of Faramir. That's like serial killer creepy.

:rotfl

No, I only bought two, an exclusive and a regular. Much as I love him, I don't need 50 Faramirs staring at me during the night. One for display is all I need, and one to keep mint in the box to preserve in its pristine glory, though I'll likely keep that one in storage. After all, who needs all those Faramirs when just one is glorious enough? :D Can't go too crazy now.
