I have just found Faramir without clothes for sale on ebay for $9.99, they also sell the arrows, bow, clothing and boots separately but I think if you get it all you spend the same amount as if yu buy the figure complete. lol.

Maybe should buy the nude body and try repainting the head.

It still would have happened, most of us, I at least, saw the shiny beard and the fact that it was darker and were taken a bit by it, but at the same time, we expected the figures we got to be done with the quality those images lead you to expect, and what the first wave was, looks like poor paints apps, sloppy flesh tone additions to thin the beard, poorly done eyes, sloppy eyebrows. Like I've said, based on the new official SSC images and images like King's, some of us got Faramir's with the paint quite poorly applied, where some of the more recent batches, albeit still incorrect colors, are at least applied with quality. And those pictures really don't lead you to believe how glossy and tan some of the batch 1 Faramir's turned out either.

Hey guys, just bought a nude figure of Faramir on ebay, that is: no clothes, no boots, no bow, no sword, only the body and head.

I just wanna try to repaint the head and if it turns out ok I will keep it and buy the clothing and accesories or sell it if somebody is interested and offers a good price.

Will post pics of the repaint as soon as I´m done Let´s see what I can do with this guy...

I just returned my Faramir back to SS for a replacement. Hopefully I'll get him back soon and with a better paint application. First time I ever had to send something back to SS.

SO I just watched TTT again and once more realized how light Faramir's hair actually is--he's pretty much got stright-up strawberry blond hair. The brown is only in shots with affected lighting and when he's all dirty. Otherwise, he has very fair skin and very light hair. That's what really throws off the figure; I could live with the shine if it was at least the right color, but to me it's as if they made Legolas a brunette. Faramir deserves better!

On another note, as I was getting him ready to ship I was shocked again and again by how intricate and wonderful his costume is. It's unreal! Every layer is made with complete attention to detail, and it's just as intricate in the inner layers as it is in the outer ones. It's so cool! I love this figure. I can't wait till he's finished!

Yeah, I noticed that too. Well, I'm still excited for mine to get finished and come back. I will have the perfect Faramir no matter what! I'm looking for the right fabric to make a green cloak; that's one of the only other things to fix!

Do you think dying the cloak green would work? Or would it come out too dark?

Hey, I'm still excited about ths figure!

It's one of my favorite SS figures I own. Now of course we all agree about the paint issues, but beyond that this figure is brilliant. I haven't had a chance to take any decent pics of him yet, but hopefully will soon. I'm also hoping to grab some paint in the near future and get him painted up properly - then he will be one of the best I own.

Sideshow replaces smashed boxes don't they? The side of mine got crushed during shipping, so I was thinking of calling SS and seeing if a replacement would be possible - dig those boxes.

At the time I only have the body. I Sent Faramir's head off to DA and cannot wait. I figured if I sent it back to SS I would just get another generic gondorian ranger.

Do you think dying the cloak green would work? Or would it come out too dark?

I was going to try my hand at dying his cloak too when I get him. So if anybody is familiar with dying fabric please answer Wor-Gor's question.
