It's all about lighting and all, but the production images make his beard look quite lighter than some images we've seen, I'll be quite happy if my second figure looks like what's online, and certainly send it back if it doesn't.

He looks great as long as you got mood lighting. :lol

This prod pic doesn't look so different than mine really. I know you guys only remember that one lousy shot but I posted a lot more where he looked fine... albeit from a distance.

Maulfan is correct -- clearly the consistent ones just have better paint placement. Not sure it's worth sending back, except on principle. I could save the money and repaint the beard myself. Plus, even in the "good" pieces, the beard still isn't Faramir accurate so a repaint seems necessary anyway.

Remember I took my Aragorn from this...

Whoa! Wor-Gar, on the Aragorn pics, that is just from a change in the lighting?

No, I did some work on the beard, which came in a similar state as my Faramir -- bad paint and shiny. But a little sandpaper and light painting does wonders. Lighting helps too. :)

Well, I had my wait list for the exclusive Faramir converted last week, saying it would be processed in a couple days. A week later, still nothing. I wonder if they are waiting for repaints...

I hope it does; I really want to see your photo-shopped images soon. They're too cool!!!

Soon Cap, I want to do them, but as you can tell from surfing around, I've been a busy bee of late, and had a few prizes come my way, as Captain was to you, PF Maul was to me so he took center stage for a bit, as did some projects and other things, but I have a nice long holiday weekend free to work, so I plan on being a busy boy :)

I've been looking for a box that isn't too big; I found one today, so he'll be on his way tomorrow. Man I can't take it. This wait will be as bad as the last one, if not worse--after all, this one I know will be perfect! But hey, it's worth it. It will be the crown jewel of my collection, the most beloved collectible I own. Oh, the joy of receiving, the agony of waiting!

I have a question for the long bow experts, if they're still reading in this thread. The Faramir hands hold the bow at an angle such that if you post him drawing an arrow, which he better than any of the figures can, it's pulling more from one end than the other, would that still achieve a good shot, or should the draw be equal?

The draw should be equal; oh, and normally a long bow is not held straight up and down, but at an angle, which helps the archer achieve equilibrium on the string. An ideal draw is centered as well as possible.

So after all the talk about paint apps, is anyone here going to send Faramir back home???

Well, you saw my solution :) I ordered a second Faramir to have a "nice" version of the production figure in addition to my repaint, I'm hoping it'll be as nice as Chase's, it'll be here Thursday so I don't know what that does for people on the 30 day policy but I'll be sure, if I get a well applied one, to share info on the quality so you guys can decide if you want to try for something a little better.

Cool. I haven't made up my mind yet only because I haven't really seen a huge difference in the paint -- yes, some look worse than others as always -- but its not like some people have figures that look like the proto. But if yours looks great on Thursday than I may change my mind and ship him back. I'm still in the 30 day window (June 18 received).

The morning after I got Faramir was cloudy, so my room had pretty flat lighting. Faramir didn't look quite so bad. Even so, he only spent half a day standing next to his brother before I put him back in the box. :(
