Watched yesterday 9/10. I am a huge fan of LOTR and now the Hobbit trilogy. I will admit that AUJ and TDOS are the exact same movies as LOTR trilogy. Both trilogies hit the same notes... "there's a evil brewing in the east" etc. I feel like I am watching the same movie but a different angle. Having said this…..bring it all on because I am sure loving Middle earth!!

I wonder if when the movies are done, we'll see a 4-hour (or so) "Tolkien Cut" that takes all the stuff that's actually from The Hobbit book and edits it into a single, coherent movie.

As much as I'm grateful Jackson got these made, I'd be totally up for that and -90% of garbage Legolas footage.

It will happen. I know of folks on the TORn board who have done some of that with the first one and will add stuff from the second one. I personally think fan edits are a fans ego gone wild.
