That's true. It could happen. I'd love it if it did. I worry how the Sil would be reverted by the general audience. It's the hardest of the books by Tolkien that I've read at this point.

The hardest by far, but also the most epic and my favorite. Reading Sil for me was like watching Akira, I had to go through it a few times to get it all. Even as a narrative there are more than enough characters/events that could make a movie(s) if done well I think.
Bring on Smaug! Will be the best theatrical Dragon since Dragonslayer.

The Sil is alright. I finally made it through last year but its a fairly dry story for the most part. There are enough characters that you could make a movie or two about though. Smaug looked great for what we saw. I can't wait to see the whole thing.

but I'd rather have an awesome movie... and seems like these guys are working hard to deliver... so, I shall be patient and wait for december! Just hope the movie doesn't get pushed back...

I'll be my life it doesn't get pushed back. I agree though that it sucks but I want the next two movies to kick as much *** as the first did.

Doesn't bother me a bit. If you watched the LotR behind the scenes vids, you saw a lot of it as well.

I still say they used more in this one due to scale.
