So I can't wait to see this in 48fps. I remember being really blown away by AUJ when I saw it at an Ultra Screen in 48fps despite getting a massive migraine. Some of the scenes in natural daylight look life like. The scenes in the Goblin caves were worth the price of admission alone.

P.S Did anyone see it in that new Dolby atmos? The one where they have speakers on the ceilings and stuff?

I personally enjoyed the 48fps. So I'll go see it that way once just to see it. I saw AUJ five times in theaters and I figure to see this one at least that many times.

the goblin town looked amazing and life like in the first.

the new trailer looked great i wanted to see a good shot of Beorn though.

I loved Goblin Town. Thought it was a pretty darn good part of the movie. Now, the fall into it and out of it were a little on the OTT side.

Yeah, but I'm wondering if stuff like that was done for children.

I remember back during the time the first three were coming out, people complained about "Super Legolas" but he was a favorite of little kids from what I remember. It's obvious why Jackson kept putting stuff like that in there.

When I heard Smaug it reminded me of the voice on the video game from Sierra over ten years ago. That was my favorite computer game. I liked the Thing too

I suppose it could be. Never thought about it like that to be honest.

Yeah, Legolas caught a lot of crap for some of the moves he pulled during the movie. Most of it to be honest I got a kick out of. :lol

I did too, until ROTK and him surfing the Oliphant. Gimli's line after it though saves it for me though. Jackson knew what he was doing.

BTW, ROTK is so epic I don't know if it will be topped anytime soon.

Since i'm not a Tolkien fanatic, I love watching the movies for what they are than what they should've been.

The only thing I know about the books is that the Hobbit story is much lighter in tone than LOTR.

I love not worrying about if a character was created just for the movies or not.

As long as it works in the movie i'm happy.

I love that PJ has no problem injecting humor into these very serious stories, that's what makes Whedon/RDJ/Marvel so successful and fun to watch.

For me LOTR is the Wizard of Oz/SW OT of today, and the only true cinematic masterpiece in the previous 20 years.

I can throw on LOTR, any of them, and be amazed.

Lets see what marks on history this new trilogy will leave behind, too early to tell.

You tooth amazes me. I wanna stare at it all day long. Like a moth is attracted to Gandalf and light.:rotfl:lol

Nothing has really wowed me this year, hoping this does the trick.

Can't wait for the part with Beorn, my favourite in the book.

The great thing I think is Jackson captures both so well. He blends things so both camps walk out pretty happy. I agree I think the LOTR will always be looked at fondly and overtime The Hobbit will be as well.
