Cool pic of Gandalf and Beorn

Bofur singing in the extended edition made Rivendell so much better. It doesn't hurt that he was already my favorite Dwarf.

This film Beorn in no way matches his description in the books. He seemed more like a big, black-bearded lumberjack than a werewolf.

I am disappointed.

Yeah... but they had to make him look very unique. :rolleyes2

I'd rather he looked more 'normal' because then it would be like "OMFG dis seemingly normal looking dood can turn into a freaking BEAR???!!!!".

Now it's like "oh this dude with a serious hair problem can turn into a bear? I thought he was a werewolf...".

This is one of those times I'm glad that he doesn't. I don't think a lumberjack/grizzly adams/Hagrid Clone would look good. I actually like they did something different with this character.

Yeah, I don't like how Beorn looks either. That's hardly how I pictured him from the descriptions or the countless illustrations of him. Whatever.

These Hobbit movies really seem like hit or miss. Gandalf the Grey is probably the best translation from book to art to film based on John Howes's illustration to Tolkiens wording, then we get something like this.

I really hope they don't go over board with the CGI orcs in this one, especially now that we're dealing with more averaged sized human people. That was a huge turn off for me in the last movie.

I remember seeing a pic of Lurtz (the Uruk-Hai) and Saruman before LOTR came out and thinking it looked horrible. I am going to try and wait and withhold judgment until I see it on-screen. But I can certainly see why some might be disappointed.

They're going to do a vinyl record for DOS. Here's the cover and I assume the cover for the regular edition score.
