I know it's going to be just me, but.....for what I saw of her, I didn't care too much for E. Lily's part.

I like her design and what little we saw. Its hard to say how much or how little since we didn't see much.

I'm really stoked for this film. More so than the first one. Looking like we are going to get into some darker stuff now.

My favourite parts of an unexpected journey was the glimpse of Dul Guldor and Smaug.

This movie I hope will be a welcomed break from the Dwarvish storyline...

The story will start to get darker that's how the book is. I've been saying that since the first movie came out for people who might not have enjoyed the lighter tone.

I'm not sure if you've read The Hobbit but one of the main story arcs is about the Dwarves. Their storyline is and has to be a part of this movie. If that's what you're expecting you may be disappointed.

Another quick point, I wonder if the orcs that Legolas and Tauriel fight just a group of random orcs that are perhaps used as a way of introducing the woodelves or if they are some of Azog's orcs that are hunting the dwarves in Mirkwood. Azog will have to factor into the film somewhere but what do they do with him, have him continue tracking Thorin but then they would have to fight them at some point but it would become a little redundant if the dwarves escape again and Azog survives again.

I think its part of Azog's little army. He probably sends them into Mirkwood to follow the Dwarves only for them to get caught/killed by Legolas/Tauriel's band of Elves.

No I've read it. And agree. Totally get that the Dwarves are it. But I think what made the movie difficult for those not into Middle Earth was that the movie dragged on all about the Dwarves and rarely deviated from them.

I'll love whatever I see out of this trilogy...however I also want to see it do better at the Oscars than An Unexpected Journey did.

I don't think it dragged personally but there isn't much you can do other than start cutting their story out. If you do that you start to lose the body of what is The Hobbit.

I do as well.

Wow completely agree with your post. I liked the hobbit a lot, its just not my favorite lotr movie but it had to be pretty damn good too keep me so entertained when I really don't give a crap about the dwarf plight or story line!

I don't think you'll see it getting kudos at the Oscars until the third movie is out.

The fleshing out of the appendices as well as the focus on the dwarves and their history are really the high point for me.

In the LOTR trilogy, out of all the races of Middle-Earth, the dwarves were given short shrift, with the lone representative being Gimli. PJ took some liberties and sent Galadhrim troops to Helms Deep; a small part of me wished that PJ would take a little more liberty and have the dwarves get involved for a true alliance.

Also, it's nice to be able to show the casual fan were the animosity between the dwarves and elves emanated from.

Lastly, I cannot wait to see a dwarven army in battle. Their tactics were hinted at in AUJ: during the scene where the company reaches Rivendell and the elven calvary is riding in, Thorin commands the company to "close ranks". Hopefully PJ will follow fantasy literature tradition and show the dwarves fighting as a wedge shaped phalanx.

That's what it sounded like hearing PJ talk about it in the q&a. Or maybe they are all buried in the same area but not same tomb? Looked to be a pretty huge structure. It was a cool looking clip though. Very creepy.

I really enjoyed yesterday's live feed. The sneak peak of GTG and Radagast at the tomb was awesome too... So the entire nine were buried there and not just the Witch King?

It appears that way. I'm curious to see where they go with this to be honest. The rings actually just kept them alive until their bodies just faded away. Basically it was a form of eternal life and they were under the control of Sauron. If their bodies have been buried that changes things a bit. What I think they're will do is their physical bodies died but their souls belonged to Sauron.

Well, as the tomb went downward there were all of those cell doors blown open from the inside, so I guess they were all there.

I'm really looking forward to that whole part of the next two films as Gandalf will be the focal point. He's really become one of my all time favorite characters, right up there with Luke and Indy.
