Actually yes, there will be quite a few of them that will want it...
Ever noticed how they sell those Army/Navy/Marine videos being like video-games...?

So you honestly feel that The Hurt Locker glamourized war more than Avatar?

:dunno :lol

Well,
I'm talking about Hurt Locker in itself...

Ok, but assuming you are mature enough to watch and comprehend The Hurt Locker; I would assume that the viewer is pretty saddened by the ending. I find it hardly inspiring that after returning home to his wife and son, the battlefield is revealed as truly where his heart lies - anyone with a family would be/should be revolted by that.

:lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture

Anyone who thinks that THE HURT LOCKER "glorifies war" seriously may have some wires crossed. :duh

Unless, of course one is so myopically dove-like that any examination of the hardships and sacrifices that individuals in the military endure and pays them respect for that is "pro war".

I wasn't saddened... I was shocked and pitied the guy...
He's not there for justice or "freedom"... he's just there as an adrenaline ego-driven junkie... I have no sympathy for that. :dunno...

But the movie isn't about what the military endure... for that watch Stop-Loss...

Of course it is. Every one of the major characters goes through some kind of mental/emotional development that ultimately reveals who they really are inside. And it's the experience of war that brings that out.

I can't see a single rational person watching this movie and then wanting to do what these guys do or go through what they do over there on a daily basis.

He already admitted as much:

A bit of a backtrack from glorification. :naughty

To me this movie is about a sociopath...

A bit of a backtrack from glorification. :naughty

Most people celebrate this guy's motives... because it's portrayed as a "hero"...

In any case,
That's my story and I'm sticking to it... :lol

That was his catharsis, sure. But what about the other 2 guys? I think the film was a pretty solid examination of what guys like that go through over there as well.
