I actually believe that it sold out faster because of the new ordering method and surrounding buzz. Had it been a regular sale, I think it would have had less publicity and taken a while longer to sell out.

Not the PO method, you can order now and think later with any SS purchase.

Honestly I agree with Tom (well and myself as I have already posted), a large number of people hit order and will then adjust their plans accordingly throughout the process. Darth you should be fine if you got on the WL early enough.

Yeah, but Loki obviously had no intention of buying it in the first place...

Loki wasn't planning on getting it, but he told starwarsgeek7 that he would get an order in for him just in case there weren't any left at noon. Once geek reported that he was successful in placing an order of his own, Loki was free to cancel the one he had reserved for him. So he was being helpful.

But I can promise you that there were many others ordering for less altruistic purposes.

I think a normal order would have been slower but Maul is one of the most popular characters ever. Despite his short screen time people are just drawn to the character. I find him to be a character I just want to know more about. These types of things just make him such a draw.
