I'm a little surprised it took as long as it did to sell out. I think people may be underestimating this line. Yes, there is a frenzy about Star Wars. It's been around almost 30 years. The LOTR films have a huge fan base now and they've only been around less than 5. Imagine what things will be like in another 20 or 25 years. I'm sure there will be a few LOTR fans kicking themselves for passing on the exclusives. I'm just happy I got mine.

We can expect the LOTR line to have the sellout times about 2-3 times longer than the SW one.
I mean, I was predicting 2-3 hours, thinking that the Exclusive ES might be 1250. It ended up being 1750, and it sold out in twice that.
It's no mean feat, of course. If Andy Bergholz continues to deliver, and the figures keep on being outfitted to the gills, then the LOTR line will become the stuff of legend.
Right now, it's safe to say that any fan who misses out on a 12" preorder is doing her or himself a huge disfavor.
