They would still take a hit in there feedback I am sure. No one wants that.

i'm pretty sure these are the time limits. you are only able to leave feedback on ebay for 60 days after the sale. if you don't want the item after 30 days and the seller doesn't respond, start a dispute, which can only be done between 10-45 days after the sale. btw, a negative for a buyer that has paid should never be held against the buyer if you are a seller reading feedback. i think only the negative on the seller end can hurt you.

I don't know about that. If a buyer pays, but then finds a "better deal" elsewhere, and demands a refund, I'd want to know about that as a seller. I would definitely lock that buyer out of any of my auctions. A bid is a contract to buy. If you don't want to honor it, don't bid.

That very situation just happened to me. Pondering whether to leave a negative
feedback for them or not, as I'd likely get one in retaliation. Sucks...... :monkey4

I have had issues in the past as well. I had one situation where a person pulled the bid because of a cheaper item than wanted to renter the bid after they realized the shipping on the other item pushed them beyond what they had one my auction for.

Thats easy. Have a zero return policy.

That doesn't exactly attract many buyers though, now does it?

I'll gladly refund a buyers money if an item is lost or damaged, provided the item is insured (and sometimes even if it isn't). But buyer's remorse I won't cover.

let me rephrase, the buyer that paid, short of wanting a refund for no good reason. i was writing based on a retaliation negative to a buyer if the seller sold a damaged or not as described item.

remember, the buyer requesting a refund has to be for a damn good reason for ebay and paypal to side with him.

Honestly, I have never had a problem. It's the only way to cover buyer's remorse. How else are you to take advantage of all the idiots who can't wait to see if they may get one? LOL!

ebay seems to protect the buyer with the pre order auctions and therefore would surely side with them if a cancellation was requested... i have left feedback 6 months after a transaction (the item was lost in the mail)...

i read the ebay policy that says only 90 days to leave feedback however in another area, it says by doing a search with the item number, you 'may' be able to leave feedback after 90 days. is that the way you left it 6 months later?

If a seller is smart, they structure their auction so that it cannot be claimed that it is "just" a pre-order auction. Define the terms such that there is some listed item that will be shipped within 30 days (even if it is something like a printed photo of the SIM) with the actual statue as a "bonus", and then eBay will have no choice but to side with the seller.

Even better, sell the photo as a way to "reserve" the SIM. Not paying the full price, but only making, say, a non-refundable 50% deposit, with the remainder due later. Then, if they want to back out later, they have their $350 photo, and no case with eBay.

i believe that i had the option on the "myebay" page...

From today's SS newsletter, this should help some on the waitlist:

"
Comic-Con Pre-Orders and Quantity Limit updates!
All pre-orders placed at Comic-Con should be showing in online accounts by this weekend. We'd like to remind all of our collectors that item restrictions WILL be observed for all pre-orders! Please be assured that we are hand-auditing all manual, web, and phone orders to make sure that the items' limits are upheld. We have already found double orders within our system, and are in the process canceling them and reallocating them to our inventory and Wait Lists. **
"

They should cancel all orders from people who double order stuff.
