Stupid ****ing Sideshow. Opened the Julie Newmar Catwoman PF today and this is what I get.

I asked for a replacement base. If they offer me a credit to keep it I'm telling them I'll just send it back for a refund.

Sorry to see that. Sideshow is always a gamble, they have monkeys in charge of QC.

While HT has all the right in the world to issue such a plea, they would be arrogant to think anyone would go out of their way to report infringements. Yes, piracy is a crime, but why do I get the impression that HT is just looking out for themselves on this one?

With the exception of a few weirdos, no one has been a fan on how HT treats their customers. They don't listen to feedback, they don't let us vote on what license we'd like to see next, they don't stick to deadlines nor have been transparent on their licenses. And now they think we have their back on bootlegs? Go fly an Iron Man kite.

I'm gonna email them.

Subject line: "known recasters"

Actual email: "Just kidding. Where's my ****ing '66 Batmobile?"

Still laughing at that "infringement notice". It's like they conveniently chose to forget they got their start bootlegging and evading copyright.

There's a good lesson in this, if you reach the top of the pile and get complacent the only way to go is down. Haven't bought a single figure from Hot Toys in nearly a year now, my interest is more or less completely dried up at this stage. Right now the only things I want to catch up on are BD Robocop/Murphy, the ANH Stormtrooper 2-pack, ANH Sandtrooper, DX09 Keaton Batman, Reeves Superman and the old Iron Man Mk VI. Maybe grab something Terminator and Predator-related too. What's telling (to me at least) is that everything I want from them is at least two years old at this stage.

Just keep in mind of the rotting "S" emblem if you're searching for a Reeve Supes. :slap

Seriously, though. I do think it'd be ****ing hilarious if everybody just spammed the **** out of that email address with questions about products. "Where is 1/4 Returns Batman? Where is Returns Catwoman and Penguin? Elizabeth from Prometheus, please. Do you still plan to make the 1966 Batmobile? Joker 3.0 or Quarter Scale? Any chance at new 89 Batman? Lone Ranger, plz. Where is Tomorrowland?":lol

I'd probably ask them where Kyle Reese 2.0, new Colonial Marines, the Phantom Pain figures, Batsuit Begins 2.0, etc are :ohbfrank:

I want Zod, Ursa, Non, Black robe Jor-El, Reeve Clark Kent, Hackman Luthor, Kyle Reese 2.0, Sarah Connor, Aliens Marines, Returns Catwoman, '66 Batgirl and Newmar or Meriwether Catwoman, Big Chap 2.0, Cavill Superman with ****ing heat vision HS, and the list goes on and on.

Autograph prices have finally been posted for Dallas Comic Con. ****ing Mark Hamill does want $195. I'm still going to get his signature, but I can't rationalize spending $400 for getting both Luke and Joker items signed. As much as I love Star Wars, I think I'm going to have him sign something Joker-related.

what do you figure their take is on that money that is charged for the signatures?

From what I've heard, the actors get paid a fee to appear--between $5,000 and $250,000 depending on the type of celebrity. The celebrities set an autograph fee and a photo op fee, then the convention organizers get $5 per autograph fee and $10 per photo op fee.

Here's an example that will make you sick. Norman Reedus supposedly gets $200,000 to appear at a convention. He charges $80 per autograph and $100 per photo op. If he signs 500 autographs in a weekend (I'm sure that's on the low side) then that's $40,000. Minus the convention fee, he gets $37,500. Say he takes 500 photographs at the same convention for $100 a piece, minus the fee he'll end up with $45,000. So for one weekend he gets $282,500--and I'm betting that's a slow weekend for him. I bet Dallas Comic Con will be a $500,000 weekend for Hamill.
