I really think Disney finally jumped the shark that there's no faith in these films without RDJ, and his days are numbered. Is he done after Infinity War?

I don't know how any more films he has on his contract. I'm sure they'll pull up to his house with a dump truck full of money to keep him though. Even if he doesn't star in any more Iron Man films, he'll probably make cameos in everything until he's too old to do it--then they'll just CGI him in.

I think DC is planning on Batfleck being their Iron Man. They made BvS all about Batman, shoehorned him into SS, and he's leading the JL. I'm shocked they didn't try to cram him into WW somehow--at least not that I've heard. Plus, they're planning on 4 Bat-family movies so you know he'll have to show up in all of those.

They might be over using him because they might lose him soon

That's true. It'll be interesting to see what the Marvel film universe looks like after Infinity War. I wouldn't be surprised if they use it as an opportunity to reboot or focus on other characters beside Iron Man and Captain America.

Robert hates having to do the iron man scenes and has hinted at wanting to stick to doing independent movies. I can see why they are milking him so much

Man, I'm bummed by all these superhero movies having to be inter-connected to one another. I'm one who believes that when you're trying too hard to promote everything and everyone, individual stories will suffer. I enjoyed all of the Marvel movies so far, but I wonder when will audiences will get burned out by all the movies being a giant advert for what's to come. And don't get me started on how DC is handling it.

DC are obviously interconnecting movies – not sure if WW has any cameos - not seen it yet. However I don't agree that Affleck was "shoe-horned" into SS... the format of the film, and the fact that they needed to have flashbacks to show the audience who some of the Villains were meant that Batman had to appear, just as Flash appeared in the Boomerang flashback... if they'd have had Batman catching him THAT would have been shoe-horning... just as if Black Manta had been in the team, you'd expect Aquaman to be shown catching him etc. etc.

Also, regarding the Batman 'family' movies – of course he will show up in some form, but what you forget is that Batman is a 78yr old character, who has been pretty much the no.1 comic book hero since inception, whereas Iron Man as a character is only popular due to RDJ - to the majority HE IS Iron Man, when he goes th character won't have the same appeal.

We'll have to agree to disagree on most of what you posted. Batman was used so poorly in SS that they shouldn't have had him in it at all. They had him go after Deadshot in front of his daughter (which was ridiculous because Batman wouldn't traumatize a child) and tossed him in the after credit scene for his RDJ "Avengers" moment for no other reason than to connect the **** film with JL (and to let us know that Waller knows Bruce Wayne is Batman). Even the chase scene after Harley and Joker was stupid because everyone in Gotham probably knew where they were because they weren't hiding. Joker owned a night club his girlfriend danced at for ****'s sake. You think they'd be tough to find? Also, do you think anyone preferred the ****** 30-second back story they gave these characters instead of DC giving them more time in other films or even just a better written SS? I stand by my shoehorned statement.

As for knowing who Batman is, no **** he's an old character. However, the popularity of Batman has mainly increased over the last 20 years to what it is now due to all the films. Superman was the #1 most recognized superhero for decades but DC isn't concentrating on him like they are on Batman--which I think is horse****. I do agree that Iron Man was a B (almost C) character for a long time until Marvel decided to bank on him and the Avengers since they couldn't use the X-Men characters in their films. They got lucky with RDJ embracing the role, as well as the audience embracing RDJ, and they've made billions since IM was released. That doesn't mean you throw the character in every movie though. They're playing off the Civil War comic book story and forcing the relationship between Tony and Peter into their film universe when Spider-Man is a character that can stand on his own two feet. Spider-Man is still a more popular character worldwide than Iron Man.

feel the same way. thought the whole rewriting history w/ stark making a computerized spider suit and that's now the origin of spiderman's suit was 100% not needed and took away from the character development. i get the need to mash these guys together, but now ironman being the one who got spiderman's outfit made... really seemed ridiculous to me.
