Things are pretty stable now. But I'm probably going to be getting a kid in a year or so.

:lol :lol Just kidding. At least you're waiting until you know it's what you want. Most people around here do it when they're young and stupid--not financially/emotionally ready or mature enough for the responsibility.

:lol I can't believe I finally opened the FC set either. After seeing them in-hand, I don't think I would have minded paying full price for this set, but I'm glad I waited and got that crazy deal on them. Now I just have to keep the ball rolling and open my Bond figures and Armored Batman.

Haha! Mine are still in the box as well!! Along with ghost rider, punisher, daredevil, ss Batman, Ghost buster four pack and a bunch of MP tfs. Oiyyyyyyy such a looser I Be!

If there were only more ****s in that thread. no worries though, an appropriate placement of celebratory material will be noticed on Friday :lol

I see the same stuff we used to post pop up regularly in this forum now. Interesting how standards have changed in the last couple years.

My wife has gotten antsy about it. And I don't blame her really. It's become a **** or get off the pot situation. I do want a son. I look forward to him growing up, and I can expose him to all the movies I love.

He's going to get massive doses of Predator.

Yeah, if you're at that age you don't want too many more years to decide. I think I would have enjoyed parts of having a kid, but I'm way too selfish so I'm glad we didn't have any. :lol I like seeing nephews and nieces every now and then, but I'm much happier not having to deal with them 24/7. As long as you guys know what you're getting into then you'll be fine. Better get some new displays with child-proof locks!

And I some of those young, dumb parents bring their kids to me and say "fix my kid." As far as the gifs go, as long as you weren't part of the Gentlemen's club, you should be able to post just about anything you want. Truth talk right there.

Alarm set!!!

Yeah I hear ya. My collection would be his eventually, so I want him to respect it and not be an animal. I want to raise a kid to be the anti-child monster I see so many parents walking around with. Not loud, respectful, and most of all, not a wimp.

What a ****** day this has been so far. It's the kind of day that I probably should have just stayed home because every single person in this building is irritating the **** out of me.

we never had the itch for kids... both of us are more career minded and such. neither opinion is wrong... just for us, the kid thing has no appeal at all.

part of what has never gave me the warm and fuzzy is that it is a MAJOR crap shoot with kids. you can nurture them, raise them right, give them all the love in the world... and at the end of the day they can cause you more grief than good times and break your bank. i've seen it so many times with people... and at the end of the day with all the time and money that goes into it.... to have the potential for you say you wish you never had them (or the thought creep into your mind more than a few times) just never had an interest. and the messed up part is that it is all SO beyond your control. sure, you can do the right things, say all the magic words right... "oh my kid will never be like that, oh i'll raise them to be like this, i will teach them right"... all to have it go down in flames. so i guess that's always been one of the points of contention... that you can do everything right/text book and still have a nightmare on your hands.

May be a good time to take the second half off today. It's almost Christmas so nobody cares anyways. Go home, have a good drink, open some new boxes for the cats and watch Gremlins.

Totally get this perspective. My anxiety to have kids stemmed from a **** family so I was seeking some sense of belongingness and feeling at peace existentially. I realized though that I probably could have been happy with my dog and wife. I'd never say I regret my children but I totally get where people are content with not having them. Kids are super tough. It takes a lot of patience. I've taught my daughter that half of my collection goes to her and that she is not to mess with it. She likes to help me unbox things but she knows that they are my statues/figs until I croak; then she gets them :lol

I guess I am the outlier....

Having kids has been the best experience of my life....

But my kids are literally the easiest most laid back kids .....

Ask them to do something...it’s done....

Straight A honor roles etc etc ....

Now I will stop being a proud Dad....

I only have Marty, Jake Sully, and Spider-Man (2 original) in boxes not yet opened and displayed....

And Spider-Man might be getting the boot. Great figure but just does not fit in my collection.

yeah i get it... i know there is that deep routed thing w/ some peeps that have to have kids... or want them for some meaning to themselves... or have that clock ticking... moreso on the female side, but i get that it's there... genetic, instinct, whatever you label it as. for me, just happy w/ 3 of my most favorite people in the world... me, myself and i! and you guys of course! lol :rotfl

That sounds perfect. I'd love to do that today, but for some reason Tuesday is almost worse for me than Monday. I'm taking a half day Thursday for some errands so I may have to cut those short and chill at home with the cats. :rock I haven't even started watching Christmas movies yet, but I've got Gremlins, Die Hard, Scrooged, and A Christmas Story on my list.

Flawless victory. I still have to watch Scrooged. Love that movie!
