Ready Player One got me wanting a representation of grandaddy Gundam a bit more upmarket than my Robot Damashii figures. Think I found what I was looking for in this GFF Metal Composite version.

Ha! I got the same itch. Started working and printing/modifying files to make an iron giant! I like that Gundam! How much was it and how tall is it? Any location to pick it up?

It's the Gundam Fix Figuration Metal Composite Version Ka (try saying that three times fast) #1009 Gundam the Origin version. Price is usually around ¥14,000 on the Japanese aftermarket, there's also two different releases with slightly different packaging, one from 2011 and one from 2015. It's 1/100 scale, so about ~8" I think?

Here it is next to a Robot Damashii figure, it's quite substantial by comparison. The engineering is insane, the inner structure is almost entirely metal with mechanical joints. It also comes with a crazy amount of accessories - two bazookas, two different rifles, armour parts to make three different variations from the different stages of the Origin manga, four beam sabers, different v-fins, etc.

That's slick. I'd love to have their new metal Wing Zero, but I ain't dropping half a K on it.

Although, I'm actually in the process of probably dropping close to $700 on a figure I can't find anywhere since it was limited to 400. I have to go through a Chinese agent though. It feels very shady. Although reviews and reddit seem to back them up.

here's the final ghostbusters stand... came out great!

Now that I think about it, I probably should have made one for Spook with my Zombie Zod.

figured it was as a perfect spot to put the post!

I’m definitely in for a gauntlet stand.

i'll be running them in black acrylic and putting some logo on the name plate... should look legit when done!

Yeah, I already had both. I just figured that since I was getting a new cover that I may as well think ahead for once.

Those phone cases are awesome, Zod! And congrats on the Darkseid print. I was really debating it because I absolutely love the current Mister Miracle series it’s from, but I figured I should probably refrain until I can cover the ridiculous amount I spent on Batman prints.

And your stands are beautiful, Pro Design. I look forward to seeing your completed Infinity Gauntlet base.

I need to go shopping for some new business clothes. I need a new suit, a couple pairs of pants, a couple dress shirts, and maybe some new shoes. As I am a creature of habit who likes staying home on the weekend and an impatient crotchety ******* who doesn't want to talk to people, going out of town to shop for clothes ranks somewhere around the 5th or 6th circle of my own personal Hell.

What I need is a Maker from the Transmetropolitan comic.

That’s a good idea! I love that art. I want to get a tattoo of it, but I don’t know where to put it. The face would have to be pretty big to get the details in it.

I didn't grow up with Wing so I don't have the nostalgia for it, sadly. Watching it for the first time as an adult I couldn't get through it, the same problem I have with Dragonball Z - love some of the designs in both but just can't make it through the source material. The Universal Century timeline for Gundam and original Dragonball seem to hold up better in that regard. That said, the GFF Metal Composite Wing looks really impressive, slightly regret not preordering one.
