Why would polystone feel like plastic, the fact that it's hollow doesn't change its texture.
And unless you display a piece on top of a scale the weight doesn't make a difference at all! In fact, I prefer the light ones as they are much easier to move!

I agree, don't care if it's hollow. Great sculpt and texture (even the base!)

It always amuses me when people say they feel they are getting more of their money's worth when the statue is heavier. Really, I didn't know they are selling these by the pound. With this logic, they are really ripping people off by selling these newer, slimmer, lighter TVs

Every major statue company has pieces that are hollow. The cost of shipping these pieces as solid sculpts, and by solid I mean absolutely full with absolutely no voids, would be insane. Even parts of XMs pieces, including Magneto, are partially hollow. Though their pieces do tend to be on the thicker side.

Yes ... Well said!

I don't have this piece myself but I just want to chime in regarding the issue of weight...
If it's a static piece that sits on your shelf and you're not handling or manipulating any parts, then what difference does it make whether it's solid or hollow? Light or heavy?
Packing it with more polystone won't even affect it's durability or longevity.
Increased weight= increased shipping cost and back pain.

Increased weight on large pieces also limits display ability. I use mostly wall mounted shelving and I can't put the original Hulk PF on a wall shelf. I have to put him on a marble pedestal because he's just too heavy.

While I had this I really liked the weight of it. It was easy to move around when I needed to. In theory I'd say I like more weighty pieces, but in reality it was nice that it was lighter.

I still love this piece! Prob never gonna sell it as it's my only Hulk at the moment. I see no need to get any other Hulk. I have the new Grey PF coming in but am considering selling that once i get it. This one fills my Hulk needs to a T.

I've felt the same so far. If I could afford the ECC version, I would've replaced it with that one, but I cancelled my SS Green Hulk ex before it shipped.

Yea, i sold my maquette to put the funds towards the ECC Hulk...whilst the maquette was a great sculpt and the base was pretty cool...the size of it amongst other 1/4 scale movie avenger pieces just looked out of sync! There's no doubt that the Hulk Maquette needed to be bigger and so you just dont get that huge HULK presense that you should get. On its own it works okay.

The other thing that i wasnt too keen on was the dull green paint colour they used. Ive seen one or two repaints using better shades of green and it totally transforms the piece imo. Then again, ive seen some hideous repaints which made him look fluorescent green! :lol :lol

ECC Hulk for me will be the ultimate movie Hulk collectible out there! ;) and i finally get to have some movie accurate chest hair on my Hulk!!! :woo

I have multiple PFs on wall shelves too, but not the original Hulk. That dude is 50lbs by himself. I even tried 75lb wall anchors and he still stressed the drywall so I took him down and got a pedestal for him. I'm sure there are shelves that would work and if you can get into the wall studs you'd be fine, but I just don't trust that beast on a wall mount.

The one I use holds up to 350lbs

But it is in three different wall studs.

Yeah... he looks 1/5 scale. I remember seeing a video with Ruffalo standing next to the naked maquette and it did look much larger.

ECC Hulk all the way.

Once you're in the wall studs, using an appropriate fastener, you can hang these 1/4th pieces with no problems. The more studs you use will only distribute that weight that much more. It's what I do with the big mirrors I have at home. One of them weighs about 50lbs and the giant mirror (7' tall) weighs 80lbs with it's thick wooden frame.

SS Hulk looks better than the ECC version imo... And no spandex in sight :)

Yeah I think it is a world of difference. I don't even thnk the ECC sculpt as seen at SDCC looks like the Avemgers Hulk.

Sorry but the scale comments are way off. The Hulk as depicted in the Avengers is only slightly taller and thicker the Thor. He is not as big as he is in the comics
