Re: Indy Premium Format

I hope it is. I prefer the static, museum type poses rather then the action ones.

Either way....this could be shown next week with him sitting on a toilet...and I'll still order it :p

If it's Indy taking a dump, toilet included as the base, I'm definately getting it.

If the pose is something like this (but obviously the ROTLA Indy) I think it'll be rather ass-kicking:

Works for me!

This will be glorious. If the likeness is as good as the Aragorn PF is, I might have to buy some gentle giant stuff to break in a sacrificial honor to Indy.

Thats about the pose I was figure on from the image... so far he looks cool. Interesting that he'll be on the cover of ToyFare, for the longest time (about 2-3years) they never mentioned Sideshow. Then awhile back they started covering them again.

Toy/Statue/High-End Collecting is at an all-time high in popularity at this time. Aside from toys, statues, etc. being accessible from multiple outlets, they also are becoming more availible in paints that look great from the factory. Not to mention that more companies are doing them.

The fanbase for these licensed collectibles has also grown up...instead of the little Indy figures they had as a kid, they instead want the 12'' high-end figure or a statue of their hero. The market has grown just like their customers and ToyFare sees that as well.

I'll be ordering. This is my number one most wanted SSC item right now. I'll cancel just about anything to move this in front

I'd grant that, but before that they used to cover Sideshow and other 1/6 companies... then all of the sudden the stopped. And then 2 or so years later they picked back up again. Actually when they weren't covering them was probably when 1/6 stuff was most readily available.

BTW, I may have missed it, but is this for sure from Raiders... or could it be from one of the films?

It's from Raiders. Note the brown Radiers accurate web belt (which I hope they'll fix on the 12" figure). He had a khaki one in the other films.

DAMN! that looks cool. first time seeing this, guys, so I'm quite excited, myself. the clothing looks sensational!

I hope you guys like the portrait when it's shown. It's a very subjective thing, so I'm expecting mixed reactions. :) So far this piece looks like it's going to be every bit as successful as I had hoped! *fingers crossed*

Trevor, was the pose of the PF done after a specific scene in Raiders? or was it done in a tribute fashion where its something created in honor of but not exactly from kind of deals?

I would consider it reminiscent of what you're all familiar with, but not specific by any means. a tribute is a nice way to put it. I certainly felt like I was making one helluva cool tribute at the time, or I at least went in with that sensibility. :) I cared very very much for this...I hope it shows!

thanks!

Hey Trev. Are you happy with the sculpt? How does it stack up to your 1/6 th Indy or Han portrait in your eyes?

I'm very eager to see what the stance is. How was it arrived at? Is it something you and the SS brass talked about or did they tell you what stance they wanted?

I'm sure this will be a phenomenal work of art when we finally see it and get it in our hands. Can't wait!

Ultimately its Sideshow's piece, so their direction is followed as closely as possible. But A sculptor gets to play around and bring their own input to the table, which is really nice for us. I can hardly function without art direction... I can't make up my own mind when I'm given too much free reign.

This is my best attempt at Harrison. The only portrait I've done of him so far that I've been happy with the end result. Not 100% happy, but....how could I ever be 100% happy with my work?! :) hehheh! It's sort of the culmination of my years of fandom... Or at least, so I feel.

bring it on!
