I think it looks exactly like Depp except for the cheeks. Every time I see a pic of it I wish I could just push them in or something.
I bet when people get it they could take a needle to the cheeks and pop them.:lol

Well said.

Re: Cinemaquette Jack Sparrow Pictures High Res Up-

I think most people of at least moderate intelligence agree the cheeks should be defined but it looks a LOT like Depp.

I agree. It's still the best human likeness on a statue, IMO.

Same here.....maybe some L'oreal will define those cheekbones...:lol

Re: Cinemaquette Jack Sparrow Pictures High Res Up-

I think the likeness is pretty good.

Re: Cinemaquette Jack Sparrow Pictures High Res Up-

I think it looks like Johnny Depp, BUT, what throws it off, looking at the hi-res pictures closely, is proportions. I see Johnny's eyes, nose, mouth, it's all like his, but they don't seem in proper proportion to each other so the overall composition loses the likeness a bit, but of the pieces they've done, this is certainly one of CM's better works.

Re: Cinemaquette Jack Sparrow Pictures High Res Up-

Well CM has gone through all the trouble of getting those tiny details right but no one notice CM didnt put any dreadlocks on? I thought it's one of Jack's distinctive feature....

Well said! :rock

The more I see this, the more I'm going to have to have it. How much is this gong to be, $1700 or so? Oh well, I didn't like my Marvel PF's anyway.

Exactly! Very strange. I would have preferred dreds even if they had to scrap the punched-hair thing and use some kind of synthetic alternative. That combined with the overly wide face just kills this piece for me. It certainly looks like Depp but I would never go so far as to say it's the best human likeness on a statue by any means.

Andy, I would LOVE to see what a 1/6 Jack Sparrow looks like sculpted with your artistry, that'd be a piece of perfection no doubt.

Oh I'm not saying I could get it any closer! :)

I'd bet you could, you're one of the best out there, my Sideshow pieces with your headsculpts are my absolute favorites, and after seeing your Bond with the beard stubble added, I'm sure you could sculpt Jack's facial hair correctly where others have missed the mark a bit so far.

Re: Cinemaquette Jack Sparrow Pictures High Res Up-

TO each their own but I know I will be in heaven when this Sparrow statue is in my home. Products are always better looking in hand. I think a lot of unfair criticism is being dished out because of the price tag....rightfully so but I really don't think this statue could disappoint anyone once in their collection. :)

Realistic skin. Perfect outfit and effects. Superb sculpt. Incredible base. Great pose. Signed by JD himself. How much more do you guys want or need?!:google

I mean Jesus Look at this thing! :wacky

....for it to look like Johny Depp would be a good start.

Actually, let me correct that... it DOES look like Depp.... if he was 45lbs heavier. They just need to get those damn cheeks in somehow.

Enjoy bro, no one's saying you can't or shouldn't, but I think a lot of us look at the price range this piece runs and it's shortcomings don't jive well with that. For the HT or Medi figure to be off for what they cost, it's liveable, but considering what CM has shown they CAN do with pieces like T3 Arnie, this just isn't perfect. I see the escence of Jack Sparrow there, and a well made statue, but the shortcomings of the face and hair make the face off from being able to make me feel like Johnny's jumped off the screen, which the T3 piece certainly did, that thing is creepy and I've only ever seen people's pictures.

I think we definitely see a different Depp and that is fine. No need to knock something repetitively. I don't think that figure that you posted earlier looks like Depp at all so like I said, to each their own.

Thanks man, I will most certainly enjoy. It's just hard to constantly hear such negative criticisms about something you have been so eagerly waiting for. I think I am going to take a break from these threads. If people don't like it then, they definitely don't have to buy it but I know my place will be rockin with my very own Sparrow statue. :D

Just learn not to care, it's art basically and all art is subject to critique. I've heard things I love get slandered but I share my feelings on the positive and the negative comments don't affect my ability to enjoy pieces. As long as when you take that statue out of the box and set it down in your home and you're happy with it, that's what matters, what you see, not others.

Jack Sparrow Cinemaquette - anybody have some pics?

I am thinking of getting the Jack Sparrow cinemaquette but I'm not sure how the fabric on the figure looks in real life. Does anybody have some good pics of it? Do you recommend it? I have spent ages looking in the forum and on the net but have had no luck. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
