Unfortunately I am going to have to hold off on this project until a least mid-April. My fiance and I have gotten the opportunity to get a large chunk of the expenses of a trip to Egypt covered, but we're still going to have to pinch pennies to cover our portion, and I already have a considerable amount of money sunk into custom projects that will not see completion for some time.

I hate to miss out on the pre-cast prices, but if these turn out as good as Chris's other work they'll be worth every penny of the full price... and I will want to purchase one of just about any X-Files character we get cranked out, just not until after we return later this spring.

I think you should be well within the time frame. Usually these commissions take some months to reach the completion.

Yeah, I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity... and you'd have to beat me with a stick to get me to not take 1783736128 pictures and bore all of the folks here to tears with them.

I'm even planning on trying to take my 1:6 Indy for a few shots....

Man, you're going to love it. Me and my girlfriend went to Egypt last September and it was just amazing!
Be sure to visit the Edfu temple, it's mind-blowningly cool

Beard via paint or sculpting? Paint might please more people if not everyone wants the beard, but would beard via sculpt look better?

We should all probably start a vote or something so that the sources and the sculpts are worked out by the time Chris is ready to begin.

The default seems to be that we all signed up for this when it looked like the M&S sculpts would be from IWTB. Is it safe to assume that?

I'm pretty indifferent to the finished product--I'll take whatever (beard/no beard, TV/FTF/IWTB) as long as the characters are there. However, I will say that at least when I signed on, I assumed IWTB versions of both characters (including Scully's movie hair color).

I guess one solid preference I have is that I don't want to see Scully's IWTB hair sculpt mixed with a non-IWTB hair color.

I'm firmly in favor of "anything BUT IWTB Scully". IWTB is her worst look IMHO. But again--perhaps there could be 2 different "hair sculpts" that could be attached to the bald version? Though there is the issue of seams... I most prefer "1st movie era"--a season before and after it or so.

PS--from emailing Chris earlier, it seems that painting is done on a case-by-case basis. If you really wanted her to have blue hair, you could ask for it to be painted that way---you're paying for it afterall. So it shouldn't really be a factor.

That's a good point. I think when it came to Mulder, I realized we could all go different paint routes, but then I totally forgot it when I mentioned Scully. Not sure what I was thinking.

I definitely agree that IWTB Scully is the worst look she's had. But, if we go that route, then do we want Mulder to be from IWTB or from earlier sources to match what would be a Scully from earlier sources...

I'm not buying a Mulder, so "matching" isn't a concern for me. (I actually plan to buy 2 Scullys, and have them painted a bit differently)

I'm leaning toward TV series Mulder and Scully, since the Sideshow sculpts look a little mannequin-like (Mulder in particular) IMHO. I'll go with the consensus on this though, whatever route the sculpt goes.

Another question, The bodies from Triad Toys are very good, I don't know if Chris' drilled heads could fit on those bodies ? I read they do on Hot Toys bodies, do you have a link so I can see these ? Thanks very much, man !

I think we definitely need a poll to straighten which version of Mulder and Scully we're getting. Or, how hard would it be (for me it would be nigh impossible) to sculpt each head to a certain point, then have custom hair sculpts etc. so everyone could get what they want – is that even a possibility?

Well personally I'd like an early Skinner (season 1-6). An early Krycek (season 2-4).
And the same about Mulder + Scully.
I don't like GA with too long hair just like in the latest released movie...

The precast price is still available, just let me know if or when you're ready and I'll put you on the list. Chris will announce when the precast discount's over.

As far as Krycek goes, he's on the suggestions for possible future commissions, but it's not an official commission list. What I'm planning to do is to wait until this batch of figures is successfully completed then I'll ask Chris if would be on board to do the character that has the most votes (think it would be better on our wallets to do them one at a time in the future).

Next week I'll compile all the votes for Scully.

I figure there's real no need to vote for Mulder, I assume that we'll go with a version of Mulder that will match Scully.

"Heads are designed to fit the Hot Toys small neck joint adapter and other similar neck joints" - Chowes. If you need the head drilled, it's $5.00 extra (US Dollars).

I asked Chris if the neck would fit a Sideshow body. He said he would just drill it out a bit, then I'd have to just glue it on so the head will stay in place.
