Yeah, this is going to bomb. John Carter is a much better film than TLR. If Disney had advertised John Carter the way they did TLR it would have done much better.

An expensive western nowadays is almost doomed to fail. Said that from the get-go. Most folks just don't give a damn about the western genre anymore

Too bad- just got back from it and really enjoyed it....the critics really savaged it ..and the media just loves to jump on and trumpet how big a disaster at the box office it is.

Probably one of those movies that I will actually enjoy for what it is, despite everyone else hating it.
I still like Depp, and fun action sequences in movies.

Probably though a really good western like Tombstone would do well I think.

I swear yahoo runs 2 or 3 new "it's bombing" articles every day. They need to find more Kardashian stories to cover.

:goodpost::exactly:

They relish in sticking it to this film- like they did John Carter , WWZ and Man of Steel...remember how they had stories on MOS before it opened saying how critics were giving it bad reviews and expect below estimate box office?

Westerns don't need to cost 200 million bucks. And nothing is better then Tombstone.

If Tombstone cost 200+ million it would fail too. Wyatt Earp was better

It might but I doubt it. No, I'm sorry but that Kevin Costner film isn't even close to the greatness that is Tombstone.

I agree with you in one rare occasion. Tombstone is the best western I've ever watched.

I'm sorry, but Tombstone is not the best western ever made. It is one of the best, but not the best. There are many other Westerns that are just as good, if not better than Tombstone.

We will have to agree to disagree then. It's number one on my list and for me that's the #1 most important thing. :rock

WYATT EARP is indeed a better film than TOMBSTONE. But I'd rather watch TOMBSTONE. Just like I'd rather watch RAMBO than APOCALYPSE NOW.
