All I remember of the third one is that there was an awesome Pirate musical lynching scene...and I vaguely remember Elizabeth dressed like one of the bad guys in Platoon.

they build up to this EPIC final battle between ships that never happens. The pirates gather around for a war that Never happens
AT the end is just one ship against another, and a whole hour of build up for absolutely nothing.

it sucked. (plus getting rid of the Kraken between movies... wtf were they thinking?

Wait a minute, it's starting to come back, now. There's a giant crab lady who loves squidbeard, and the Rolling Stones are sitting at a table talking about their lucky charms, and Johnny Depp plays Johnny Depp playing like 30 different Johnny Depps on a big boat in the desert.

BAHAHAHAHA :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

and Yep! That's the movie.... a bunch of build up for absolutely nothing.

That was an entertaining build-up to nothing, though.:lol They need to take more kid pirates to the gallows. They come up with some pretty good music on the way out.

Well, were you being a crapper for no reason? Eh? EH? :lol

You basically said that you dont care for westerns but you come in the Lone ranger thread talking crap...dont like westerns dont talk about em...I dont like slasher films involving people that do not die or gorey films that show gore just for the sake of it...I've watched plenty of em and seen IRL things too...you will never see me on a Jason/freddy/saw film thread doing whatever because I'm biased against them...it's just something that is very noticable with you...youre what we call "easy"...I admit that it bothers me that youth disregard older films.. I'll admit that plain and simple

The third Pirates movie is awful and I think it is the worst movie of the franchise.
It made no sense half of the stuff they did. the ending battle was cool and even then it sucked.

I thought the last one with the mermaids was much much better than the third one :dunno

Totally disagree. The last one outside of Jack was pretty damn boring to be honest. Blackbeard was worthless and his daughter even more so.

Blackbeard was worthless. Like I said earlier, I guess I was expecting too much after watching Mcshane's performance on Deadwood. I just figured that Disney might've seen it, too, and wanted Mcshane for a reason, but he was just so...tame, for being the most infamous pirate in existence.

Never seen Deadwood but people spoke highly of him couple that with the fact Blackbeard was a nasty *** pirate. That leads you to expect the character to just be really well done and awesome sadly neither is true.

Good read! Thanks for posting it.

"Read Clayton Moore's autobiography... it made me appreciate the Lone Ranger more because of his passion for the character and the ideals that it represented. There's a story about Clayton Moore doing an appearance and someone stole his luggage with the costume and one-of-a-kind six shooters... when the thief realized what he had stolen he returned it saying he could never steal from the Lone Ranger. Gives you hope..."

I read that. Hopefully the guy didn't steal ever again.

I would like to see this as I am a big fan of Depp's movies and also love all four Pirates. For those who have seen this is it worth the watch. I have not seen any previews so I would be watching it fresh.

I'd say if you're going to see it, the big screen is the way to go. I thought it was fun. Not brilliant, but fun.

They said that this is going to be a John Carter sized bomb. I can't help but feel like Johnny Depp just got sucker punched right in the ego.

Yeah, this is going to bomb. John Carter is a much better film than TLR. If Disney had advertised John Carter the way they did TLR it would have done much better.

I agree I think John Carter is a better film, even though I liked Lone Ranger. But I think both share the fact that they are both better than the critics made them out to be.
