LOL am ready for the *stress*. :blissysmi

It's nice to give a *&^% about a series again, considerin' the reaction I had to GOT at the end. I swear I just sat staring blankly at the screen for 10 minutes after, and not in a good way.:pfft::mad::computer:toilet_cl

I cannot bring myself to watch the last season of GOT.

I was always a season behind. After hearing how bad it was it dropped off my watch list.

Somehow I have avoided the spoilers on why its so bad....

I really hope they tighten up the writing in season 2. I enjoy this show, but the writing is so sloppy - what's with Star Wars and sloppy writing these days?

Don't. Wait for the books. Even if Martin never finishes writing u'll be better off. And maybe since series is over and he's getting less
attention he'll decide to finish. TBH tho I gave up - if he finishes great, but there's too much other stuff to watch/read.

Maybe it'll be like the Golden Age of streaming; HBO/Amazon/Netflix/Disney+ all upping the ante of their shows.

While I enjoy the show, I'm not sure I understand why it gets so much praise. It's had 2 really good episodes, 2 really bad episodes, and the rest were just good. The writing/dialogue for the side characters seems lousy and doesn't fit in star wars.

So, it just comes down to a guy in a cool costume and a cute Alien, doing stuff we've all seen done before in other movies and TV shows. I like the Mandalorian cultural stuff, but that only goes so far.

Give me an actual plot, instead of just a Lone Wolf and Cub remake.

Still, I'll watch it though.

*shrug* simplest answer is people see/feel things differently. If something doesn't speak to you, it doesn't. Like my bro loves Captain Marvel movie and I think otherwise for the most part.
As far as "not having a plot" I'm more in for enjoying the ride vs. the "fast paced thriller" *&^% stuff that even IW/Russos touted. For all that does is end up jettisoning logic a lot of the time, forcing me to just accept something because "that's the way the movie is" without anything underpinning a relationship or skill, and generally ends up - for me- ending up being indifferent. No world-building, no build-up at all. Just check the boxes. It's the details that make folks care about the characters and narrative.

Favreau had the sense with IM to show Tony developing and IMO he's got the sense to develop the characters here - my opinion it's a breath of fresh air. Srsly any action series u could write plot "Cool character with cool outfit saves innocent/defeats bad guys and 1) rejects being king and wanders off to sequel or 2) accepts being king, marries princess, and 100 years of peace and prosperity happen." Either way can happen in 30 minutes if u like.

I prefer the slower pace of fleshing out all the characters vs what they did with the Rey trilogy where they just throw lots of explosions and CGI at you with little to no character development...

Yeah, agreed. It?s almost like it?s praiseworthy simply for not being an utter crap Star Wars narrative. I?m three episodes in and it?s very watchable - but not 94% RT watchable.

Yeah, am kinda frustrated with ST 'coz really think the CHARACTERS introduced could've been incredible if given room to breath. IMO Mando, MCU as well knows how to balance better. But from reading guess Abrams is known for that kinda breakneck style e.g. not spending a lot of time with characters.

Reminds me a bit of Michael Bay:cool:

The case for a HT Scout Trooper is growing stronger.

If they do the baby Groot style of release, whereby a differently moulded Baby Yoda is included with various figures, then the scout will have one to go in a shoulder bag.

The trooper dialogue in this one seemed Tarantino inspired, and I think they're carrying the troopers can't shoot straight joke a little too far now!

It's been a conundrum ever since the King of the Rocket Men (The 1949 origin of Boba Fett).

How does the wearer control their flight?

And now, something of an answer.

"Until you know it, it will not listen to your commands."

Why is it that Stormtroopers are only good when you're not watching? They can take out a lair of Mandalorians off screen, but on screen five of them can't shoot one Mandalorian armed with hammer and tongs? Or the Scout Trooper that's so stunned by IG-11 he doesn't shoot?

Is commenting on Episode 8 a spoiler? Just in case:
IMO not perfect but for me - great satisfying episode hitting both action and emotional notes. Some stuff like Greef tossing a few down cracked me up. Way to go Taika:clap

Lots of amazing moments and a villain worthy of the title. Great cast. Luv this show. And some stuff yeah, they went there holy ^`*?!!

This is the way.

I remember some morons here were saying the creators of this show would probably ignore the Prequel and Clone Wars lores for The Mandalorian show. Guess what...this episode just dropped the big F bomb to those people faces lol :lol.

Are you sure that what makes one a 'moron'?
I actually see another way a person can appear as one.
