I love the show too.
Now hold your horses, I said I liked it, not that I loved it. I'm not that easy, falling in love with every fancy new show or vidya, or qt woman who glances at me!

It's magic.
Kidding aside, it does feel like a show from another time, and I appreciate that. In the midst of everything nerd-related being watered down and MCU/CW-ified to fit some [current year] standard, this was a fun throwback.

Misc:

So the RUMOR mill has Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shan returning (fine by me, she's badass and there's nothing to say she was actually dead vs. wounded, since Mando didn't check:monkey3)

https://www.cbr.com/star-wars-mandalorian-ming-na-wen-fennec-shand-season-2/

Taika won't direct in Season 2 but we get Favreau helming an episode:clap;

And if u like art prints: https://www.slashfilm.com/new-star-wars-and-the-mandalorian-prints/

I like art prints/posters but so far I've like the original PR stuff the best e.g. with more characters. I'd like a high res print of Mando reaching into the pram with that little hand reaching back, which IMO is one of the most telling scenes in the whole series, and beautifully shot.

But I can wait until someone puts out a high quality product, in time.

Yep agree she can come back any time. A longer action scene with her is fine by me.

Prints are nice, but I'll be getting this "Art of" book. One for each season apparently. They haven't hinted at a Season 3 yet have they ??

I was gonna get that art book except the description says "the first 4 chapters" like it didn't cover all of Season 1.:pfft:

Wondered if this was some kind of KO product vs. a "true" art book. Tho looking at Titan comics guess it is reasonable enough. Maybe they went into production before other artwork could be released like nurse Droid?

I definitely want a collection of all the credit art from this show, genius to use it for end credits.:clap

I'd prefer she stay dead. We already had one fake out "death" on the show (IG-11) and it's just gonna undermine any kind of stakes the show has if they start bringing people back.

Gideon gets a pass cause his TIE crashed...we never saw him explode or anything. I know people loved Herzog and want him back but come on....dude was blasted clear through the center of his chest, so he's gone.

One of the many reasons I despise the Disney movies is the ludicrous resurrection of characters (Palpatine, Maul) that were clearly DEAD DEAD DEAD in the movies. Yeah yeah, Maul was "alive" in a cartoon but I never watched it and neither did the majority of the normie movie going public. So seeing Maul alive was just plain STUPID. Not as stupid as Palpatine...but I digress.

Keep Mandalorian awesome. No dumb comic book style "I wasn't really dead" crap. Quill was a fantastic character. He was full of heart and humanity, and his sacrifice made an impact. How insulting would it be to see him riding around on a blurg again just cause the audience liked him?

Anyway, just my two cents.

Until George Lucas himself resurrected both of them in other media.

That said I agree that it'll be stupid if every death of any significant character suddenly becomes temporary. This ain't the MCU, lol.

Even Vaders and Kylos mask returned from the dead lol

Actually agree with this, tho give IG-11 a pass, partly because the show spent a lot of time explaining and partly being a droid - in theory interchangeable systems and parts. IG-11 was pretty fried but his parts were there. And scavenging stuff for re-use is a thing in SW.

But it's not like Fennec IMO couldn't be alive, since she looked like she was shot in the abdomen:dunno. Whoever found her could've healed/rescued her. It's not like Palps falling hundreds of feet with a massive explosion:cool:. IMO he was definitely DEAD as was Kuill - I don't think Favreau would bring him back any more than bringing back Yinsen in IM1. The Client is also definitely dead - also think Herzog has too much integrity to even think about revisiting the part. He's the one who told Favreau and Filoni they were cowards for thinking about replacing the Child puppet with all CGI.:lol

Shame tho, I miss the sneer.:monkey3

Definitely agree Mando should be kept awesome. If Disney wants to mess stuff up they have that diverse Republic to turn into a sensitive musical, or something.:pfft: But it's just a rumor. Favreau and Filoni are keeping a tight lid on Mandolorian, as it should be.

Do we know where Luke's green lightsaber is? Somehow I have a feeling it surfaces in a future Trilogy.

You're not gonna like this :lol . . . but published canon says that the green saber is on Ahch-To being kept there as one of the preserved Jedi relics.

Not sure if this was posted but...

Ahsoka Tano is set to not only appear in The Mandalorian, but multiple D+ shows. Have to assume Kenboi, Cassian, maybe a live action Rebels follow up of some sorts or even her own show?

I'm good with that; sort of follows what MCU would do - test the waters and then spinoff, maybe, or now make a Disney+ show.

And in the "break Disney+" dept.:

https://www.theverge.com/2020/4/15/21221963/mandalorian-disney-plus-documentary-docuseries-star-wars-baby-yoda

The Mandalorian is Disney Plus? breakout show, and now it?s set to receive an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look in a new eight-part documentary series exclusive to the streaming platform. The series will premiere on May 4th (otherwise known as Star Wars Day). New episodes will premiere every Friday.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will explore different aspects of the series through a number of interviews with the cast, crew, and production team. The series will also include never-before-seen footage from the cutting room floor and roundtable conversations hosted by director, writer, and producer Jon Favreau. Favreau described the series as an ?opportunity for fans of the show to take a look inside and get to see a different perspective, and perhaps a greater understanding, of how The Mandalorian came together,? in a press release.

my Mando fandom could be described as "rabid":drool, so will be there, as every nano particle is wrung from previously published material in this overhyped effort designed to keep subscribers on board or bring back those who jumped ship. :monkey3

8 part making of doc premiering May the 4th on D+.
Disney knows how to make money even in the worst of times.

What ! Where ?.....goes to Google...

edit : exactly what I love ! Behind the scenes stuff !! Even the tech for the live screen tech is enough but seeing more how Baby Yoda works etc will be amazing !

Even the Mandalorian gets what fans want with extras. Something TFA for example never did, yet so easy to do.

The way Abrams rambles on and his inexplicable box-stuffing:monkey5 telegraph imbalance. Thus, good ideas with a failure to execute, and so he face-plants:slap. And of course, unlike Favreau, never read anything that suggests Abrams or Johnson really have a love for SW.

Favreau and Filoni SW uber-fans tho clearly know how to develop characters and tell a story. Getting caught up on SW Rebels; and while animated and quick, am impressed at how much fleshing out the characters have, with full arcs, distinct personalities and relationships. Also see that style being carried into Mando - fast openings, full narrative, etc. Tho regret each Mando episode has been so short. :monkey2

Heck, I was tensing up last night whether a captured character in Rebels would escape, something I don't remember watching TROS.

Favreau and Filoni think like fans, because they ARE SW fans.

Totally agree.

I was chatting with a mate about Season 2. We reckon they will need to up their game, and Faverau will know this. He's been around the block a few times and is a smart dude. For me the best way to do this is to take it from a 1 dimensional story about the Mando and run some parallel stories which interconnect. Now they have introduced enough characters and potential story angles to do that.

My biggest regret is also the episode length, so with parallel story threads that should hopefully automatically mean somewhat longer episodes.

I just hope I'm right with that theory. Otherwise we're in for more Saturday morning cartoon length episodes.

I guess I'm just a pessimist. I feel like the first season was pretty much perfect. They captured lightning in a bottle.

Any time something is that successful, inevitably more people will want their fingers in the pie. I predict big Disney/Kathleen Kennedy style changes in season two. Maybe something like entire episodes with nothing but the Child being cute and adorable. More strong womyn. More severe lessons that Mando will need to learn because of his toxic masculine behavior.

Yeah. I'm jaded and cynical and joyless. But I loved every episode of season one and I just know they're gonna try to take that away from me.
