Me either. Best way to go into next week. No expectations.

We have had a pretty good run these last weeks.

Well, the speeder set was a surprise. Even if there are no HT reveals, assume there's gonna be as part of the hype machine eventually. Well, depending on how HT is even getting anything done or shipped these days.:dunno

The D+ Mando Gallery was a surprise, too. I was expecting some sort of very short S2 teaser first.

I?m guessing Mando will be used to show how Ashoka died and my guess she is killed by the dark saber.

That Ezra character will probably also have to be addressed. I just learned that his Rebel show actually showed how the cosmic force worked with time viewing portals controlled by wolves wait wut so the force has reincarnation then why the need for force ghosts lol

Still though I think giving her a spin off show is a tad bit too much no isn?t 7 years of her character enough backstory.

But I also guess that Rosario isn?t signing on for just a cameo so more than likely yeah get ready for years of Ashoka.

She will have more stories told about her than even Vader, Anakin, ObiWan, Luke, Han, Leia and the Emperor.

Then in that crappy High Republic we will get an Ashoka prequel lol

Hey, if it leads to us getting to see a live action Thrawn, I’m for it. You can’t conclude Ezra’a story without Thrawn. Heck, this could actually pave the way for some Heir of the Empire stuff to become cannon. They wouldn’t dismiss the ST but still maybe able to squeeze in some old EU and please some of those fans. Ashoka coming to the show really opens up a lot of possibilities. The high republic is so far back the only character we might actually see is the real Yoda. Everyone else is a 100+ years from even being born.

I think the biggest question is whether baby Yoda leaves the show by the end of season 2 or if he’s in for the long haul.

Is this High Republic even confirmed as movies etc ? I thought they were just using books etc to get feedback.

And from what I've heard it's not the best feedback so far.

Dunno all SW material - but I like Rebels a lot, for an animated series I felt a lot more than I did about anything in TROS. Good writing, well-developed characters. Like it explores "what others were up to" but folds in a lot of live action film stuff. Great villains like Thrawn and Inquisitor:clap.
Stuff that made me laugh too. Has spirituality and doesn't pull deaths/destruction either. If Ahsoka is showing up, I'm gonna wanna know at some point what happened to Sabine and Ezra - tho that doesn't have to happen in the Mandalorian. (If Ahsoka appears in Mandalorian, don't know why she would feel like she needs to explain her whole back story while Din Djarin checks his watch etc.:monkey3)

Suspect she will kick Din's butt *trope* to sell more action figures and then explain the Force/Jedi/Sith in 60 seconds, Baby and Ahsoka will have a moment, and Mando and Baby will be on their way, enlightened. I can't wait.:drool:drool:drool (Meanwhile Disney execs breathe a sigh of relief at introducing live action Ahsoka so they can launch another series after the stalled Obi-Wan series foul-up:pfft:).

Suspect Baby IS in for the long haul; think that is kind of a Samuari/Classic Western thing; Din Djarin completes his task and rides into the sunset. Re High Republic - IMO the idea isn't bad - but it's getting torpedoed out of the gate with the diversity/white boarding.:pfft:

Just watching the Mandalorian Gallery. Sooo good. That story of Filoni getting hired by George never gets old ! Hilarious.

Just goes to show that old initial thinking by Kennedy that animation people should stay in animation, and movie people to movies is such BS.

Seems to be only one episode.....I thought we were getting at least 2 today ??? Oh well, OK to have one a week and make it an event each week while waiting for Season 2.

Probably so people don't binge-watch it and bugger off after their free trial. Keep 'em hooked until Mando season 2.

Yeah you're probably right. It's all about subscriber retention, and they have bugger all new content. So drip feed for a while.

For anyone interested, this is a fascinating round table with all the top execs of the Hollywood studios. Really interesting considering the new landscape of streaming and their various takes on the movie industry.

That is an insane group interview.

Oh man shame NATO/AMC/REGAL were also not invited just to bully that Universal executive lol

I loved Disney Horn calling out Netflix for their massive content dump

Haha I think if AMC were invited it would have ended with him and the Universal guy sprawled on the table in a fist fight :lol

Ok. I had in my mind a man from the article. But that must have been the AMC guy going ape over positive Trolls on Tour straight to digital numbers. [emoji23]

That said it's not like I support that. Can't have movie theatres going out of business.

Rodriguez confirmed as a Season 2 director.

https://deadline.com/2020/05/the-mandalorian-season-2-robert-rodriguez-director-disney-plus-baby-yoda-1202926123/

Off Wikipedia:
Rodriguez is a strong supporter of digital filmmaking, having been introduced to the practice by director George Lucas, who personally invited Rodr?guez to use the digital cameras at Lucas's headquarters.[22] He was presented with the Extraordinary Contribution to Filmmaking Award at the 2010 Austin Film Festival.

One big happy SW family that just sorts of looks embarrassed around KK.

It sucks that they didn't drop a trailer yesterday.

Yes that would have been the icing on the cake. Still I guess they don't really need any more hype at the moment.

Better to wait a few more months for a virtual SDCC ? Anyone know if this could be happening ?

What a weird marriage.

From Machete to BY lol
