While Baby Yoda is arguably very cute, Favreau worked to keep him from getting too cute. In talking to Vanity Fair, Favreau revealed a lot of early designs for Baby Yoda kept giving him "Disney proportions," or cuddly features and round eyes. Favreau didn't want that for Baby Yoda, explaining, "Even with the merchandising, they were always trying to soften the rough edges on him. We really tried to look at how much we could ugly up all the different individual features." This was why Favreau and Dave Filoni, who also worked on the show, gave Baby Yoda "weird little hairs growing out of him," and jagged, sharp teeth.

The mission to keep Baby Yoda from being too cute translated to the noises he made. For example, instead of using classic baby cooing sounds, Favreau's team used "creature noises." As Favreau explained, "It?s like a stray dog or having a little baby alligator or something." Still, even with all these adjustments to his appearance and vocal chords, fans still fell head over heels in love with Baby Yoda. Audiences appreciate him for his little quirks, like his ability to swallow a frog whole. It does make one wonder though what those original designs looked like.

Well yeah. Tho gotta admit Baby force-choking Cara, laughing as IG blows away stormtroopers (payback is a *&^%$), and firebombing the poor slob who was just doing his job WAS friggin' cute.

Plus can't wait to give Hot Toys MORE money.

But NEED him. Had a lot of fun playing with the carbonized Mando but there's just something WRONG not having the Child to go with.

Tho I have my Tack-It re-useable adhesive ready - which happily is sea green. Maybe I can find time to glue a tiny bag together.

Edit: Meanwhile, the mystery of the crew gifts having 2 light sabers clashing???

That's a great pic! I got lucky my first Child finally rolled in late yesterday, thanx to Amazon. Getting a second from BBTS - because. Also, everyone is right, the tiny ball that comes with is like a pinhead. But it's a nice little set with awesome sculpt at this scale. Just as long as I use some putty so stuff doesn't vanish into the rug if dropped.

Didn't realize the 2nd Gallery episode dropped - cool.

With them bringing Ahsoka in I would love to see him play an old man Rex since we know Rex was still kicking around at the end of RotJ.

Well tho it probably sends "true SW fans mad" - if u are not a HUGE fan of some things it's not a big deal.

I get it after doing some reading. Kinda/Not really. Just don't wanna see the show dragged down with re-hash - to me the
new characters are a breath of fresh air. Rather have the focus on them.

(Tho ST characters could've been great but etc etc...)

I'd buy Sebastian Stan as Luke, tho, eventually if Luke shows up. That WOULD be a surprise.

Tho maybe it's just Disney feelin' the audience up more to see what they might come up with re new content.
Now guess there will be the obligatory fight scene.
