Re: Star Wars live action series-Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN

I don’t understand why it’s so important to some that the real Boba Fett survived the events of Return of the Jedi. I know it isn’t a new idea. They brought him back in the old comic books too, but he’s just never been that important to the story. I also don’t think there is any way they’re going to contradict established continuity. I can see them not making the character exactly like the Mandalorians as they were portrayed on The Clone Wars (and also Rebels, and current comic books btw), which is fine because that would be boring too, but I also hope they don’t just make him a carbon copy of Boba Fett. I hope they do something more original than either one of those things.

Just going by the movies, and not trying to go into the whole "he hunted down Solo" argument, I can agree he doesn't seem that important in the movies. But clearly, he's still relevant to a lot of fans and even George has gone on record saying he regrets killing him so obviously, he's still a big deal.

But with Disney wiping out everything EU and the only thing Boba Fett is what we see from the movies and Clone Wars, this is the perfect time to tell that story. Boba Fett is literally a blank slate right now since none of the EU stuff exists anymore. And just like you don't understand why it's so important for fans to want him to survive, I also don't understand why just as many hate that notion other than just to hate it. So this guy looks kinda similar to Fett and he doesn't even have a name and we don't know much to him. If we get the kickass show the trailer seems to indicate we'll be getting, what would be so bad if Carl Weathers character reveals to him that his name was Boba Fett or something when the season ends. Will that change anything?

Mmmmm, I wouldn’t say I hate it, I would say, In a Galaxy Far Far Away, there should be room for new characters , rather than picking some fan favorite to beat to death some more.

Lets start making some new fan favorites.

If you wanna bring back Boba, have him as the villain/competition against the Mandalorian.

At least that would be interesting and you get the best of both worlds.

I totally forgot that with Fox under Disney that all those titles will be on Disney+ as well. Native 4K HDR streaming potentially featuring every SW, LFL, Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Fox film PLUS original SW content for *half* the price of Netflix?

Yeah Netflix that 15 bucks a month I'm paying for your 10 4K titles better be dropping like a rock stat, lol.

Re: Star Wars live action series-Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN

Anything EU is dead and doesn't count anymore. Boba Fett has like 5 lines and even less minutes of screentime in the OT. So what exactly has been beaten to death with him?

Disney has done nothing but make a ton of new characters since they've taken over. You can literally only count the number of OT actors on only one hand so again, I'm not getting the whole "I need new characters" argument.

I don't want anyone to take anything I say in a defensive manner. I really am just trying to find the one reason why it's so bad for this guy to be Boba because I'm seeing a lot of people be VERY vocal about it and I just trying to see where the disdain is coming from.

Personally, I LOVE the Twin Engines of Destruction storyline and would love for Boba to have been a main antagonist and this guy be a "Jodo Kast-esque" protagonist kind of character. We're just having a fun discussion, right?

Really hope they eventually find their way to 4K disc.

www.thedigitalbits.com sure thinks they will:

As we said a week ago, it makes sense, given that Episode IX ends the 9-film “Skywalker” portion of the Star Wars Saga, that Disney would want to put all of the films (including Solo and Rogue One) into a new box set on Blu-ray and 4K next year. This is one of those subjects were our industry contacts run deep and there’s much we just can’t say. And the reason we can’t is that many things are still in flux and being decided. But this much does seem likely, as we said a week ago: You can probably expect more Star Wars films to arrive on 4K in the next 12 to 18 months, certainly The Rise of Skywalker, probably The Force Awakens, and just maybe all the others too. We’ll post more when we can, but otherwise just know that a lot is still up in the air.

I want him to be Fett but not AOTC Fett.

We learn that AOTC Jango was an imposter.

Nope this is your Boba.... ;)

Deal with it. If I have to accept Jar Jar as the cause of the rise of the Empire, you have to accept this.

That's such a terrible cop out plotline lol

Can you imagine the same thing applied to Vader? Turns out Hayden Christensen played a different anakin and another guy named anakin killed him and took his armor later!:lol

Honestly, I don't need the mandalorian to be Fett. I'm cool with him being a new character. I like Boba fett a lot, but theres plenty of room for Fett to make an appearance later in the show if need be.

Thank you for posting a picture of real Boba Fett standing next to fake Boba Fett. Now no one can claim they're the same person ever again. :)

Re: Star Wars live action series-Jon Favreau's THE MANDALORIAN

Saw the leaked Celebration videos, looks great!
But no to any more streaming services.
I'll wait for the reviews, and then the Blu Ray.
