On the other hand - probably because of last week's episode - expected the grimness and grit to ratchet up.

As for the lab, IMO Empire and co. would either have this important lab better staffed; or cleared out entirely. Also, can't see that Din D'jarin wouldn't at least make an inquiry about the Armourer/covert. The show does good showing it's been cleared out and left to "scum and villainy" but how would he know that?
(As for why Moff & co. were there in the first place, I figured it was just a fragmented mess after the revolution and these Empire remnants, warlords, pirates etc. were all just claiming territory where they could, while the New Republic struggles to get up and running.)
I could care less about this "story progression" tho since no-one knows what the story is, beyond some broad guesses. IMO the more time in Favreau and Filoni's sandbox the better. I did get a superhero landing, Cara kicking *ss, Mando kicking *ss in the Crest, and some hilarious Mando/Child moments.
