Predator directed by Hawkins: Crap.

Star Wars directed by Dillon: Awesome.

Who would have guessed, lol.

He also looks cool in that get up of his but i?m thinking Cara will be revealed to be a villain.

If Biehn is a villain then him being a recurring right hand man to Gideon who is just as capable a warrior as Mando would be awesome if they don't waste him.

OH OH OH one more thing the blue amphibian guy he was actually not annoying in this episode if anything I felt bad for him for how badly he was abused by Cara and especially Greef he actually had a decent arc in this I was actually happy for him when he felt like a bad ass mercenary when he yelled with joy WE DID IT?

He actually helped.

Weeellll .... he?s a crook and by the looks of it has a number of unsavoury skills. And although he?s a cowardly weasel he also knows how to use that blaster. Whatever his murky origins, I wouldn?t feel *too* sorry for him.

With the dark humor of previous episodes (Krayt eating the wrong "bait," BY eating the eggs, etc.) I was half expecting him to slip off the ledge into the lava and have it played for laughs, lol.

But this was just a well written episode all around, IMO.

I really liked that Mando never conveniently "forgot" that he was wearing a jetpack as an excuse to keep him with the group. Of course he'd be constantly blasting off for recon, to retrieve his ship, etc.

They tricked him hard though.

Bein' a tree hugger was glad to see an animal rescue vs. the bantha thing. Watching Mando do the parenting thing:lol Some prankster is gonna put blue baby spit on their pricey fig's cloak.:monkey3

Cara is a gawdess. A GAWDESS.:love

Watching the Crest I keep thinking I've never been so happy to drop $350 thank u Hasbro:cool:

Given how animals fare in this series I really expected that Space Meerkat to lose its head offscreen. Guess he was too cute to die. :lecture

Did I miss something in the very last scene? What were the rows of black armor supposed to be?

Need a lore dump on this guy.

I thought this episode was absolutely phenomenal! My favorite episode by far.

Everyone's been raving about how "Star Warsy" the show is, and all I could do this whole time was wonder why everyone else's definition of "Star Warsy" is so different than mine. Well, this week's episode felt to me like the most faithful and legit modern-day version of the SW that I grew up with since the OT itself.

I'm ****ing giddy over how much fun this one was! Bring Carl Weathers back to the director's chair any time (or *every* time) as far as I'm concerned. The quick cuts, the tempo, the framing of the action scenes; plus the timing and delivery of the tension and the humor . . . such a great rendition of what makes this franchise so enjoyable for me.

Pretty sure I'll be watching this one just about every day until the new episode next Friday. So much to unpack, and so many storyline subplots being started. Great stuff! :clap And more Gina Carano from now on, please!

Dark Troopers? With Jetpacks? They fly n --- never mind.

:lol:monkey3

No lie, was lookin' real hard to see if there was a Snoke floating like a pickle in a jar - gonna hafta watch again.

Personally looking forward to more of Rogue One type sense of desperation and grittiness at some point.

But not bein' negative that's just more my thing. Too much of that in a (hope) multi-season series gets to be a Debbie Downer parody. In any case IMO there was something chilling about a pretty young thing being that assimilated at the end.:horror

Edit: the more u know...

Dark troopers were first introduced in 1995's Star Wars: Dark Forces as the game's most powerful enemies, while Force-sensitive dark troopers were introduced in a 1995 Dark Empire comic. They're a group of advanced battle droids with an exoskeleton that resembles a stormtrooper and were initially built in phases. Unlike the subsequent phases, Phase Zero dark troopers were cyborg clone troopers. Phases One and Two saw the battle droid forms with lightsaber-resistant armor and advantages that made them the most common combat units. Phase Three was never fully realized throughout the dark troopers' appearances in various Star Wars games, with the ultimate goal of them becoming the armor for the next generation of stormtroopers. The dark troopers seen on The Mandalorian most closely resemble the iterations seen for Phase Three, suggesting that Gideon finishes the work of the project's creator, General Rom Mohc.

Oh, man. Sure hope Mando's arsenal didn't float away. Good thing he's been making friends.

Whoa, great to see you in the Mando thread ajp! :rock

:D

Dude, I can't overstate how much fun this episode was for me. It hit so many of the notes that feel so damn right when it comes to what I think of as true SW.

I'm relieved that I can finally join the party 100% with this show, even if it's just for this chapter. The rest of the episodes have felt like cartoon shows to me, but just with live action (juvenile plots, dialogue, humor, etc.). This week felt totally different. Far easier for me to stay glued to it without rolling my eyes every couple minutes.

I don't even need any more this season. No joke. This one alone turned back the clock enough for me. Gonna get plenty of re-watches, that's for sure. :yess:

I totally agree on the quality and tone of this episode. Hell this may be the first ep of both seasons where Stormtroopers weren't portrayed as a joke. They were adversaries to be avoided if possible and actually displayed a modicum of competence (I was shocked to see the two Stormies diving out of the way of Cara's charging troop carrier and *not* going over the edge, lol.)

The Biker Scout pulling the Indiana Jones move with the thermal detonator was actually pretty badass despite pausing just a little too long before releasing his charge.

I had pretty much written off any obvious ties to the ST but now that they already seem to be hinting at trying to inject midichlorian blood into human test subjects in tubes I'm starting to get giddy at the idea of some early Snoke/Zombie Palps expiriments. :D
