Star Wars Theory has the biggest following on YouTube out of any Star Wars channel (approximately 2.7 million subscribers). He is also not a member of the fandom menace and whilst he doesn?t like TLJ and the ST he doesn?t make endless videos about it and tends to only create content about the aspects of Star Wars that he does love. I find his enthusiasm and positivity towards Star Wars refreshing on YouTube and his is the only SW channel I watch.

He has been a huge brand ambassador for Star Wars during these uncertain times so you would think that LucasFilm would be happy with the guy. Instead they already had that run in over his fanmade Vader movie short which they initially hit him with a cease and desist order over.

After watching each episode of Mando I?ve been tuning into watch his live stream (after the fact) because I find his enthusiasm and reactions so genuine. When he cried because Luke appeared there was no way that wasn?t a real reaction.

Hidalgo really screwed up by openly mocking him for having an emotionally positive reaction to the Mando finale. It gets worse because Theory even said previously that Luke meant so much to him because he drew on the strength from the character as kid to help him survive bullying and chemotherapy.

I?ve been following the fallout and it seems as though Hidalgo was forced to apologise because once the stories hit there trades he issued a half assed apology using his secondary Twitter account. Theory said Hidalgo has emailed him his phone number and asked him to call him and separately LucasFilm has reached out to him to say that it?s all a misunderstanding.

Just as you think the fanbase is healing a prominent LFL employer goes and shoots them in the foot. Interesting to see what LucasFilm do next. They say there is no such thing as bad PR but then there?s Pablo Hidalgo to subvert expectations.

Kennedy and her goons hate the OT, Luke, and OT fans and they finally mocked the wrong person. That youtuber has a huge following and doesn't necessarily fit in the same category as the "neckbeards" they usually go after. They never wanted to make Star Wars content, the goal all along was appropriation to further an agenda.

2 out 3 say you are wrong lol

He even liked TFA and TROS initially... He turned on the ST big time when he found out there was officially no plan... That really pissed him off.

I like him overall. Dont have time to listen to him too much though.

Well it will always now come down to those who think Luke in TLJ is either Jake Skywalker or Luke Skywalker.

This is my take on it.

Yes KK/PH/StoryGroup/RJ are all toxic get rid of them.

BUT

BUT

Like Khev always says......THE END RESULT MATTERS!

Everyone and I mean everyone from this forum to Star Wars Theory guy complaint that Luke was ruined makes NO SENSE because they ALL WILLFULLY IGNORE the ending of Luke's arc in TLJ and they ignore TROS Luke while they are at it.

TLJ Luke fell from grace but still ended the movie as a HERO JUST LIKE LUCAS WAS GOING TO DO WITH HIM IN HIS MANNER probably in episode 9 instead of 8 who knows!!!!!

TLJ = Hero Alive Luke!

TROS = Hero Ghost Luke!

This notion that ROTJ Luke the warrior is the ONLY Luke that is allowed to exist is downright narratively boring but also conflicting with his teachings and encounter with the emperor.

What ever happened to Wars not make one great.

But ok fine lets say that Luke having his Vader moment is allowed because the goal justified the means.

Ok fine I can root for that plus it is visually exciting to experience.

But to say that warrior Luke is the ONLY real Luke is absolutely ridiculous which is the constant drum this SWT guy keeps beating.

24/7 Warrior Luke will get boring real quick.

I can't take the Jake Skywalker group seriously because they refuse to acknowledge the ending of TLJ.

YES I was emotional seeing Luke in Mando it was iconic and historic for Star Wars on TV for that very special moment to happen I am not dead inside I can still feel happy every once in a while in 2020 lol

But the key here is that I didn't get emotional because I hated Luke in TLJ I was emotional because it was fun to see Luke again because I love Luke especially when connected to baby Yoda and a great show!

Perfectly said. Mando Warrior Luke was acceptable because they wisely had him face off against droids.

But Crait Luke was the perfect culmination of all of Yoda's OT teachings and no amount of bellyaching will change that.

Island Exile Luke will always be where George himself was going to put him and no amount of bellyaching will change that either.

Also actual Mark Hamill >>>>>>>>>>>> CGI.

That said I did enjoy his Mando appearance along with everyone else and am happy for those who cried tears of joy or feel like they got proper closure on the character because of it.

Khev the difference between us and the Jake Skywalkers is that we are not lying to ourselves we are not willfully ignoring the ending of the character arc we are not allowing any agenda to take Luke away from us ESPECIALLY since there might not EVEN BE AN AGENDA because they still gave us an epic HEROIC Luke AFTERALL!

Their Jake Skywalker argument is nonsensical they just hate KK so they will fully ignore the movie just to attack what they hate lol

They can hate KK and the ST all they want could care less but don't use a false narrative for your MAIN argument then make a video crying of the return of a heroic Luke when we had that in TLJ ALREADY!

I'm almost agreeing with this PH ******* lol

But yep the notion that TLJ is proof that they hated Luke is ridiculous. Were any slave kids playing with Rey dolls and pretending to be her at the end? Hell no.

I'm just hoping the japanese make a fully lifelike Blade Runner/GITS style Rey android I would definitely put my HT Luke down for that lol

I cried too. It was gross. I probably looked like that disgusting man-blob Eric Butts.

But the thing is, I'm not an exhibitionist attention whore. I don't film myself watching TV shows and expect other people to WATCH me WATCH TV.

We live in strange times. I don't see in what universe that could be entertaining, watching some stranger watch TV or listen to music or play a video game, but I guess I'm just "old" and "out of touch."

I'm glad nobody saw me cry when I saw Luke. That was a private moment and I'd be mortified if my snot covered face was plastered all over youtube. The world is a bizarre place.

It was 6:30am and a very private moment for me as well.

My wife and son were asleep.

Luke on a made for TV episode not even a made for TV movie.

I got emotional because I just didn't think they were actually going to do it not in a million years I expected Ahsoka or a videogame Jedi (snore) or Ezra (snore) or a made up Jedi (snore).

But not ROTJ Luke

On a TV episode

Getting his Vader moment!

On a TV episode.

The guy does a lot more than just reaction videos. I am not a subscriber, but I do know he has built a community who care about him and take an interest in the content he creates and knowing his opinions on things and when Pablo attempted to ridicule him, he was taking aim at many others who had the same reaction (albeit in private).

As an aside, I did not cry. Prolly cuz I was spoiled by seeing what was trending in twitter.

Yep it was a fun moment that I got to experience with my son, though I was braced for X-Wing Filoni to save the day, lol. Nut then when they showed the green saber and black glove I got to sit back and enjoy not only watching the episode play out but also my son's reaction too. I wonder if those of us who are dads had a more muted reaction than those who aren't just because we watch with the realization that "we are what they grow beyond." And I do feel like there has been an element of bittersweet passing of the "fandom torch" to the next generation.

So seeing Luke kick ass was great but it wasn't an experience that I'd ever been denied since I got to watch all of his great moments in the OT right when they first premiered.

Not everyone. For me the cherry on the sundae of devolving this show from something unique into the Filoni-verse. Also raises the specter of more CGI Luke, more CGI dead characters, and Grogu morphing into young Yoda even tho Favreau insisted the Child wasn't.

Can't believe they dropped a character of that significance into only the second season. Or this show was used as a fix it. Next up guess it will be Palps cackling in the background and Darth Maul popping out of a fireplace. Inverse just had an article today about "how the Mandalorian could be used to fix Phasma." Great.

The only positive for me is NOT being awake at insane hours or having to worry about spoilers for Season 3. And I'll save some money.

:lol :lol

I agree but to be fair.. I do believe he was watching it live.. So I dont think he was expecting to cry.

He also has the fact that he had Cancer and Luke Skywalker was a hero to him and he states that the character helped him through that tuff time

Having said that.. If it was me I would have turned the camera off :lol

This... I thought it was cool.. I even got goosebumps and had a smile on my face.. but I was not like OMG OMG OMG about it. Maybe it was because I was there for his great moments in the OT also.

I also never had issues with how he was handled in TLJ. I thought his performance was the 2nd best he did in the saga (I am still amazed at all the great acting he did on Dagobah) and like has been stated I did not mind that he had shut himself off from the force and felt guilt and responsibility for everything that happened. He also got his moment to shine and be the greatest jedi ever at the end of the film. Giving his life to save lives without taking lives.

But I understand that was not what a lot of SW fans wanted in that film and I get why.

I would say that TLJ ending is a bit more of a you got to think about how great of a Jedi he is and what he just did.. But the Mando is more of a look at what a great jedi he is and what he is doing.

I like both.

If the rest of TLJ was as good as all the Mark Hamill parts (plus a few Kylo parts) then I would really be up in arms defending how that film handled him and would give nobody any wiggle room to complain. :lol

Please for all that is good and holy... Stay away from Phasma. I mean like WTH? What is it with people and that character?
