Did they put him on a lazy Susan to achieve that move? Kinda looks like it.
Is there ... director's commentary or anything like that? Has ANYONE at Disney taken responsibility for that "fight choreography"? How did it get past multiple people and make the final cut?

Watched it last night, it was alright but a lot of it felt off in some way which has been gone over several times over the last few pages. I wouldn't go as far to say it was outright bad but I can certainly see why it's ringing alarm bells.

I'm still not seeing any problem with this episode *shrug*. Dunno maybe I need to swill more blue milk....

Folks got an awesome crocodile, asteroid fight, AND the SW version of Davy Jones.

Didn’t Grogu make the same moves while spinning in his chair in this new episode :rotfl

LOL another miraculous thing - Grogu uses the Force to turn a chair into a carnival teacup ride and grab snacks. He's the ONLY Force wielder who ever had fun with it. Everyone else gets this grim look on their face like they just got a tax bill, plus having some Jedi master yell at you. No wonder Grogu bailed on the whole Jedi thing, his dad takes him to club fights and meets women who feed you.:monkey3

Grogu wields the Force and is Mandalorian. Grogu will rule Mandalore. 😁

Holy crap only you :rotfl

:lol

It's true tho. And I wish I hadn't realized that Grogu isn't all stuffy about the Force, 'coz now in hindsight every time a Jedi closed their eyes to profoundly concentrate, what a bunch of miserable b@st@rds. :monkey3

Except I guess for Anakin floating that pear around, but even then he's getting outdone by the food processor droid, which can deliver an anchovy salad in seconds vs. all that mystic *&^%. No wonder one of these was in Navarro, serving up greens for the lunch crowd. (I need this.)

I thought the episode was fine as well. Not great but fun enough to keep me watching. All those who keep saying Disney continuously messes up Star Wars have to realize that they're not making this stuff for the people on this board or those who are in their 50s (like me). They're pulling for a new audience, one that doesn't necessarily care about the lore and history of Episodes 4-6. Does it disappoint me sometimes? Sure. Did I find enough to enjoy BOBF and Kenobi? Absolutely. Did I think it was masterful and lacked any issues at all? Nope. At the end of the day, I got to see the return of my favorite character (Fett), the creation of a new Mandalorian and a cool sidekick in Grogu (yeah, I know, some of you are tired of him, but I still like the relationship), Fett riding a rancor and having a buddy cop moment with Mando, a pretty epic fight between Kenobi and Vader (and no, it didn't ruin their reunion in ANH for me), etc. Andor was pretty good but I don't find it to be the revelation that a lot of others see it as on this board. We're still getting some Star Wars 40 years after ROTJ...I for one will take what I can get, buy the dollies from the stuff I like and watch it all, ignoring what I didn't care for.

I'd add the fan group that gets overlooked are folks like me who get sucked in and backtrack, happily exploring a whole new world, thanks to the Mandalorian. Not that I wasn't aware of SW. But u can only stuff so much into your head:google, and I come out of the fantasy/Middle Earth genre.

Obviously there's similar archetypes and all, but fantasy tends to be aesthetically organic looking, not to mention has - elves. Swords. Sorcery. Dragons. Balrogs.

There's no hard and fast rules, but I'm also fascinated that lately SW is depicting characters that are either wrestling with a moral/family code (Din D'jarin) or shades of gray (Luthen Rael, Cassian). Much of Tolkien-esque fantasy has characters firmly on one side, or the other, even if they get tempted. (You just KNOW Aragorn's gonna do the right thing:angelsmil). The execution may have been a bit campy/trope - but even Boba re-evaluates his world view. Max Mayfield is an outright criminal, then we get a Mando episode where Din D'jarin makes a choice, and Mayfield has a gut wrenching back story. Don't see these guys necessarily as secretly hiding a soft heart all that time; their whole world view is getting shifted, which for me is really interesting as far as character arcs.

And they're not uber-powered Force users or trope secret royalty. IMO one of the best parts of Mando is - he's just a guy. He gets beat, time to time. An adopted Foundling from some village. I just hope F&F stick with that, and don't suddenly have any of these people be Qui-Gon's cousin or some *&^%$.

Also, SW has Jawas. Those scenes with Mando remain hilarious. Suga!😁

*sigh* ... you just had to put that in print on a public forum, didn't you?

We're doomed.

Din needs to go back and finish exterminating those vermin.

I don’t think the episode was anywhere near as bad as some are making it out to be. Sure it wasn’t the most exciting season premier but it did it’s job in setting the stage for the rest of the season. Plus that dogfight was amazing.
As long as these are not present i’m good…

This provided the laugh I did not know I needed today. Other than ruling Mandalore, this is nothing but the stone truth.

Never thought of it that way. Maybe we shouldn't blast him. :D

That IG statue was so funny - it's like a statue of Lincoln that includes Lincoln's actual ribcage, spine and skull. Sort of a grave and statue combined. 😬:lol Like if it was possible to bring town hero IG back from those parts, why would you just turn them into a pigeon perch?

And if he's just an assassin droid (like many 100% identical droids that are still out there and killing) whose programming got tweaked to be nice, why use the image of this type of killer droid as a hero statue? And if Ted Bundy helped save a town, would they still erect a Bundy statue regardless? :rotfl

And surely those dopey pirates(?) taunting Greefando Karglarissian wanting a beer in the new school (just because... the building used to be a bar...? Is there no new bar? So they asking to sit in kids' classroom seats and drink...?) go in the same category as BOBF's slow-moped gang.

In that asteroid chase, the pirates can't track/detect Mando's ship as it plays hide and seek just on the other side of nearby asteroids... and then Mando has no idea there's that giant pirate ship waiting just a quarter mile ahead of him as he exits? I so missed that constant (real-world) danger of impact with an asteroid from the classic ESB asteroid chase.
Just because it used to be a bar?

WUT!

Sorry but that’s just being disingenuous.

It was all clearly in the dialogue.

The pirate specifically said that Greef “paid them for murder and mayhem in that bar” and that it was their bosses money that built that bar.

Criminals go out of their way to FIND the most simple reasons to start a fight right.

Ego, money, power, revenge, jealousy, territory, rage, a freaking eye glance, it’s all fair game in the realm of crime!

People working overtime to hate this show for no reason sheesh Sass gonna be grumpy lol

Did you know in ANH they could’ve just flew their fighters straight down into a dive towards the exhaust port instead of flying down the trench!

Anything can be silly if you squint just a little.
