Is it wrong to say that so far S3 is boring and is it because Pedro was filming this and the Last of Us at the same time.. I feel this doesn’t feel like a Mando themed season.

Eventhough this has to do with Mandalore…it feels like it’s jumping all over the place

S3 is really following the old formula were a good tv series runs into a 3rd season mid slump

I think they should’ve waited another year until Pedro was finished with the LOU and then film S3

It has nothing to do with Pedro, the writing and structure of the story is just bad.

True…but when your main star is bouncing back and forth ..it’s kind of hard to focus on writing episodes knowing your star is barely there…it’s the problem when you only have one main lead actor

All he does is record voice lines, they don’t even have to go out to the studio for that these days.

He talks about as much as he always has anyway? It’s just the writing, simple as that.

Pretty clear they had no plan for what to do with Din after that season 2 finale.

They immediately scrambled to put him back together with Grogu. And even after their last scene in BOBF, it's all an open book. They zoom off into the galaxy and could do anything and go anywhere.....so what does he do? Goes back to his cult and begs for their forgiveness so he can be a good little cult member.

He showed growth during season 2. Taking off his helmet was a good thing. Now that's all reversed.

If Din's story was done, that's fine. It's just sad to see the guy relegated to third banana in his own TV show.

“ Retake Mandalore “ from what? The cave men?…Mandalore is an empty planet from what it looked liked ..there is no threat

Shhhhh be vewwy quiiiiiiet we are suspending disbelief.

As with BoBF, this show could be so great, has displayed flashes of greatness in the past, but we're going to kneecap it with cuteness and decisions generally devoid of logic.

I think the 2 eps in BOBF were part of the original mamdo season 3 before rewrites and reshoots. Hence the delay for season 3.

Looking back, I can't believe they wasted time by needing the Armorer to tell him that again and him already succeeding the very next episode, with 6 left to go for the season. Had they started the season off with those 2 BoBF episodes with Din getting atonement midway through the season, I don't think audiences would be feeling this meh towards the season so far.

And yes, every episode is more and more proof that keeping Grogu on the show was definitely a move from a higher ups. In 5 episodes, he "called" Bo-Katan to help Din, when it easily could've just been R5. He shot a paintball and got a new chain for whatever reason. Last episode, he just sat in Din's lap on the Naboo fighter. Totally useless as they buy time to re-package all of his toys inside of a zombie IG-11 to sell all over again:lol

It's also starting to look like Grogu has lost his luster, they should have him stay with Luke for a season. He's just there to look cute and sell toys at this point.
I agree, Grogu serves little to no purpose here and he's also not as well animated as he used to be. I suspect they're (at least partially) using a new crew to move him around

This was a pretty good episode but with Mando you must consider certain things. The concept of this show and core characters are undeniably Fan service of the highest order.
So, my takeaways, Bo is now in the position she's sought all her life to lead Mandalore, but that hinges on 2 things. First, she must awaken and Ride the Mythosaur, second, she must obtain the Dark Saber through Combat with Din (who truthfully would gladly give her it), but that is 'not' the way.
The Mandalorians are being framed by Gideon et al for his 'abduction', when really, it's just a cell of extremist loyalist Imperials led by
Grand Admiral Thrawn
who did it. Together they will engineer the Rise of the First Order in the unknown regions (wonder why they're called that?) and the entire plot to create a Cloned Palpatine Body infused with Midichlorians, for the Emperors Dark Force Spirit to inhabit. A war between the new Republic, the resurging Mandalorian state and the Criminal and Pirate Clans will be a perfect diversion as cover for the plan.
Also, it was nice to see Deb Chow, Rick Famuyiwa and Dave Filoni all have Cameos. I was over the Moon to see Zeb, I'm going to watch again later to see if I can spot Callus. Plenty of weird Aliens we've never seen before. Some nearly as strange and disconcerting as Captain ‘Salad the Hutt’.
On the point of the citizens (or lack of) of Nevarro, I took it that not everyone got away in time, and some were captive during the Pirate occupation. We saw a few getting hassled. But yes the could have padded the scene with a few more extras.
I loved the Chris Foss inspired Corsair, with it's WWII inspired canon/gun placements.
The season has been patchy so far, I really think a lot has been lost in the edit, to keep the pacing brisk. I'd happily watch a 'directors cut' of whatever hit the cutting room floor.
And Disney+ should add the 2.5-episode ark from BOBF as an epigraph to the series. For those who didn't catch BOBF.
Lots of exposition, with lots of action and even more to look forward too.
Fan service or not, this show has made me feel for Star Wars in a way I haven't for years.

Yes! I noticed that too...the paint job looked very familiar. I liked that a lot, both the color scheme and the overall shape/design.

As much as I utterly LOATHE the Disney trilogy right down to the electrical impulses in my brain, I'm fine with the story showing Imperial remnants working behind the scenes to ressurect the Emperor.

If that's all it is....fine. I'm OK with that. After all, I loved it in 1991 with "Dark Empire." As long as it has nothing to do with a secret planet secretly housing 1000s of secret Star Destroyers, etc. If it's just Gideon and Thrawn and the MMA Ensign lady using Pershing's work to clone the Emperor, then what's the harm in that? Still gives me plenty of time to just turn the TV off and let the story end there, long before we get to Luke the sadsack failure and the broken marriage of the loser Han Solo, etc.

If anyone had any balls, they'd just create their own post-Mando storyline. After all, "The Flash" has been on TV for ten years and that's a totally different story than the movie that's coming out this summer. Disney + SW should just be its own thing.

Agree the series should have moved on from Grogu... but at the same time those Grogu scenes have been one of the few highlights this season in my book, and the only thing that still retains the magic of the previous seasons. Since the writers have apparently lost all interest in Mando himself for some reason.

I think that Dave has a very long term plan. I think he and Jon are doing to the Sequels, what he and George did with the Prequels and the Clone Wars. Making everything connect and hopefully, redeeming (if that's at all possible), some of the Huge narrative and Character mistakes Disney made in the Sequels. If they can pull that off I may forgive Disney a little. I might even watch the sequels again one day. I think it's interesting that we are seeing just exactly how and why the New Republic failed. It was never going to be all 'wine and roses' after RTJ. The republic believing it could never happen again.
But what they (Disney) did with Luke Leia and Han was an utter waste. An opportunity they'll never get again.

The New Republic idea they are building on this show is garbage though…Since they know it doesn’t evolve with with the First Order in the ST and before anyone mentions Canon…they already are tying Snoke or Palatine’s clone to the show with that idiot doctor so we can’t say this is not related

I also don’t like the how the Rebellion have become like the standoffish typical government snobs that don’t care about helping other planets anymore. It’s like all the good that Leia and freedom fighters did has become an afterthought

Filoni is falling into that same category …when something becomes so hyped and fans want more …then the creator goes overboard trying to please the fans and now the creativity and storytelling is losing steam

Sweetie, Leia flying through space without a pressure suit cannot be redeemed.
