In order to get the Military Line off the ground in a big way it needs to be a Stormtrooper or Clone Trooper.
I think Tarkin could get the line off pretty good, although a trooper would probably have a bigger impact, but if I recall doesn't that mean the line wouldn't launch until 07? I thought someone said no armored characters until then...or did that mean they might be announced prior but not shipped until at least then?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE---

Captain Colton Antilles!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if not, Rebel Fleet Trooper!

I've been wanting both of those since I was a little kid, and Hasbro never even touched them! To me they are as iconic as the stormtroopers, but since most people prefer badguys, they haven't gotten as much love. :( PLEASE Sideshow, make Captain Antilles! Or the Rebel Fleet Trooper!

PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!

OK, done begging:cool:

Yeah I think they're frequently overlooked.

How's this for a release plan:

January 2007: ANH Stormtrooper

February 2007: Rebel Fleet Trooper

March 2007: ANH Darth Vader with optional blasted door stand accessory pack.

Hasbro did make a Cpatain Antilles about a year or two ago.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone know whats up with all the Antilles in the SW Universe?

There's Wedge Antilles of Corellia (which may be EU so I know not everyone considers it happening so no need to point it out, just feel free to pretend I didn't say it)
Bail Antilles of Alderaan (as mentioned in TPM)
Colton Antilles (who I assume is from Alderaan and the person Bail Organa gives R2 and 3PO to)

So would Wedge be Military or Hereos of the Rebellion? Same thing with Ackbar. How could you differentiate between the two?

From what I've heard the Antillies Bail gave R2 and 3PO to was the father of the Antillies Vader chokes in ANH. Ewan McGregor's uncle (or some other relative) played Wedge Antillies.

I'd put them both in military, for one thing with the movies Wedge has little screen time and action, and as far as I know Admiral is Ackbar's first name. :p

Any rebel would be a hero of the rebellion wouldn't they? That's why I'd think military would be all generic. All rebellion military could fall into "heroes" and any named Imperial would fall into "scum & villainy".

Brant said military won't all be generic, but the majority will be, so it seems like they could go either way with Tarkin and Ackbar, but taking out characters like them means the only military that aren't generic would be the clone commanders (the only ones I can think of anyways) and exactly how ungeneric can a bunch of clones be?

I would think that Sideshow would want some kind of "key representative" for each grouping in the military line -- someone to sell the figure type expansion packs. For example, Tarkin as the pre-order to help sell the Imperial officers uniforms sets; Commander Cody as the pre-order for the clones; Wedge to help sell rebel pilot uniforms, Rieekan to sell Hoth gear rebels, etc.

It would make sense to have a key character figure as the pre-order to help introduce the corresponding expansion packs.

Anyway, its one way to go.

So what would you do with the Rebel pilot uniform? Buy a SS or Dragon piece to fill it? Just curious, not sure I understand...unless Wedge came with a different uniform, but Id expect to see him in his Pilot gear before anything else, so offering another jump suit might be a low seller. Maybe they could start a collectors club to offset offering certain things like suits and armor and stuff on a continual basis. Any interest there?

i know for a fact if they sold extra sets of clone or stormtrooper armor they would probably sell like crazy for all the customizers out there. i would buy a set and try to make my own Cody or something. there is a lot of potential in these sets, but i only want a couple royal guards to give my Palpatine some extra muscle!!! and maybe a couple 501st to recreate the temple scene in ROTS. i wouldnt mind a couple generic Jedi so i could use them as canon fodder.

I think the idea is that they would, for example, sell a Wedge figure, complete, exclusives/inclusives/whatever, and then offer further expansion packs with alternate gear, different helmets, one with a Hoth Jacket, A-wing pilot outfit, B-wing pilot outfit, etc, so you could buy a generic SS body (perhaps they'll offer a set of heads too) and build a whole "army" of different pilots, if you like.
