Well Series 3 starts in the UK at Christmas with an episode called The Runaway Bride. I can't wait. Actually I wonder if Torchwood is showing yet?

Now something that needs to be in caps.

yea, i agree, i wouldn't want to be spoiled. back to the topic, when IS torchwood supposed to air? I miss captain jack. this really isn't spoiling anything, but the runaway bride, who is the actress playing her/ i read on gallifreyone.com that she is a popular british comediene, but I don't know who she is....

Catherine Tate is the Bride. Torchwood is due to air in the UK some time in October.

Catherine Tate is a very well known comedienne over here. Her speciality is a chavvy (low class / white trash) schoolgirl who, when criticised says:

I wouldnt go so far as to say that, but her humor is very low brow. BBC America had the Catherine Tate show which I couldn't sit through. I am just happy that she's only in one episiode.

That sounds very familiar. I think I saw her on BBC America in a Tracy Ullman type sketch show.

Obsolete, that's her show alright. I couldn't stand to watch it. And to be quite honest, I really didn't like her last line in Doomsday, "What the hell is this place?!" It sounded so raspy and just like someone screaming at a kid because they got adjitaged and its not even the kids fault. Just very harsh when she said place. I hope she plays The Bride straight... and somewhat nice. Also, did anyone else remember hearing a rumor that this Christmas episode is supposed to be like an evaluation of both the Doctor and the Brides life with views from their past, present and future? All I can remmeber is something about the bride being suicidal, and the Doctor needed to show her her past or something, but I digress because I can't even keep the rumors straight. From our UK friends, what do you know so far about the new special. If you feel like its spoilers just PM with the info as I've seen Series 2 already.

I may be wrong... but I am pretty sure she's the new "Rose" (okay, since its been all-over the SciFi sites, I don't think its a spoiler to say that this is Billie Piper's last season). And by this I mean, the Doctor's new companion. If so, you will have to see her in at least 13 episodes...

The new companion is played by a black girl called Freema Ade-something or other. Her character's name will be Martha Jones.

I hope not, from what i've heard, i'm not sure i'm going to like her. it took me a while to get used to rose, and she was a somewhat attractive young girl. don't think i like the new companion.

For all those that have seen Doomsday:

Remember the girl that the Doctor had to kill? That is the girl that is the new companion, NOT Catherine Tate. The Doctors new companion also will not be introduced until the first episode of Series 3 from what I hear. According to a Google her name is Freema Agyeman.

See, I don't think the Bride is that much of a cliffhanger. Spoilers for me are like the things that happen to Jack, the Doctor, Rose, her mum, Mickey. Major players. The Bride is just a one off character that actually was going to be in place of Tooth and Claw according to RTD, but as always things change. See this is why I wish that Series 3 would start here as SOON as Series 2 ends that way we wouldn't have to worry about spoilers.

Dr Who toys are everywhere in the UK, there's even a mini bust line coming out. The human likenesses aren't very good but the aliens look pretty cool so far there's

There are also six inch metal figures coming out of regular Dalek, Black Dalek (you'll understand why at end of season two) Cyberman and the Tardis.

I don't think anyone posted specifics, just that Billie Piper leaves the show, MUCH to my dissaproval. I however would never state the circumstances, reprecussions or anything else like that, because man did I bawl like a baby at the end of Doomsday. Almost like I did during the end of Parting of the Ways... course then I smiled when David Tennant took over and said "That's right, Barcelona."

Yeah my g/f was in tears at the end of Doomsday and even I had a lump in my throat and I don't usually get emotional over television that way.

wasn't so much as the script as I thought it was a little streched out at the end but the chemistry between the characters made it work & you couldn't help but feel sad

BUT....

torchwood starts this month!! :chew :chew
