Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Yup, if they could just bring the damn price down on some of them.

Though one product of theirs I'm not a fan of are their displays, there's no ventilation system for the heat, I don't get why they don't have this, as they heat up quite hot, even in an air conditioned room.

that's why I only buy the ipod...I'm not payin anything over $1000 for a computer. anything more than that, you're just buyin the brand name

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Well, unless Windows ever becomes as user friendly and virus free as MAC, I don't plan on switching. The Apple OS structure is just so familiar and comfortable for me now, I struggle when I have to go onto PCs, it's just not as simple to work with.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

See I've ran Windows for a long time and not have any viruses, if you just use protection bad things won't happen :naughty :lol

Where do you get all your "computer condoms"? I need to send that to my father..... His machine is ALL jacked up, but it doesn't help that the machine is old as dirt either :lol

People always find a way. The fact that you have to constantly update your antivirus software on a daily basis is what pisses me off the most.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Add me to the "Virus Free PC" club.

Never had problems with Vista, although it seems like I should have because the Apple commercials tell me so.

That's fine. Defrag, protect, cleanup, spybot, do whatever you need to do. While your doing that I will continue to enjoy my Mac that works every day ALL day with no screwing around with maintenance. Thank you. :clap:lol

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

OSX > Everything Else

That is all I have to say about the mac vs. Windows pissing match.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

What I don't like is that, like Condom's, Antivirus programs are not 100% effective, and also, there are bugs that one program can find and another can't, and then the umpteen malware and spyware finders for when the Norton's fail. And sometimes, you can search and search and not trace the damn thing down, it's a tremendous pain. I've had my share of it between my parents' PCs and doing IT support for my company.

Never been an issue with Mac, ever, and I've been on Mac since 2001.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

To comment on the Ipad, I think it's pretty cool. The eBook app is sweet, and a MUCH better buy as opposed to the kindle. I think this will put the kindles out of business....

But I have no use for this really..... I already have an iPhone 3Gs, iMac and a Macbook Pro.... If I'm traveling I bring my laptop and I'm set. Sure this thing is fancy, but not a necessity right now

I'm curious to look at one at the Apple store though :D

Well I think if you get to know apps or e-mails and not to open or run executibles (or at least scan them before running) that are not trusted or is one of the biggest problems that and porn site. :lol

If you read a lot of the tech blog Amazon doesn't seem to mind getting out of the Kindle business eventually, they stand to benefit more by selling the books than having to deal with the hardware.

Ok, regardless of you not wanting to do a lil work.

THIS ^^^ flat laptop is nothing that we haven't seen before and overpriced.

If it were something brand new to the techonology industry then I can say that this is worth the money but it's all hype and another fancy gimmick to push Apple products. It's sad that ppl buy into the hype.

I don't wanna get into the PC VS MAC **** because I'm not on either side. I'm just saying price/per THIS machine is not worth it.... heck it doesn't even fully support all the apps, technologies that you are typing on right NOW.... :sick

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

FULL BLOWN Unix > ALL, so that is flawed....

OSX is not FULL blown they just stole the kernel.

What makes something "FULL BLOWN" Unix? OSX is fully UNIX 03 compliant. I have my terminal, I have X11, what more do I need to be "FULL BLOWN"?

Terminal and nothing else. Throw everything away and the % of UNIX users is greatly reduce to 2%, ok that is a exaggeration but you get the point.

If you are on terminal then I have respect for you :bow you can call that UNIX. Otherwise it's not the same.

OSX <> UNIX
