Give it another year or two and these will be the same thickness of a piece of paper.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

"This is worth repeating. It's in Apple's DNA that technology is not enough. It's tech married with the liberal arts and the humanities. Nowhere is that more true than in the post-PC products. Our competitors are looking at this like it's the next PC market. That is not the right approach to this. These are post-PC devices that need to be easier to use than a PC, more intuitive."

I do love Apple, and agree with Jobs that technology needs a certain ingenuity to be truly accessible, but I think he may be forcing a square peg into a round hole, and selling his other products short in the process, with in-depth editing software for movies and music on the iPad. Wouldn't an enthusiast in those areas benefit more from buying a Macbook or an iMac? :dunno

On the positive side I like the new software. Garageband for $5 sounds pretty good.

Yes, but someone that is already an enthusiast would already know this. Perhaps this will be enough to segue people from beginner editors to more advanced enthusiasts that need the power from an iMac or Macbook.

Makes sense to me. Especially with the low price point. Could get a lot of PC people who have been on the fence about mac products to buy @ 499 and then introduced to the 'Mac Experience' ending up in Macbook and iMac purchases. I'd bet the iPhone is also accomplishing this to some extent.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Never said I didn't like it. I don't understand it. You could share your opinions to enlighten my ignorance. Or just cross your arms.

It's not really something to overanalyze. I look at the iPad as something that could fill the gap between a smartphone and a computer (notebook or desktop). Not everyone NEEDS this as an option, but I don't care to do things on my phone (books, comics, movies, etc...) as I prefer the larger screen and don't want to lug around my Macbook Pro.

Now I have to decide if I want to go to the nearest apple store and wait in line or just order online? Hmmmm

Order it online!!! I stood in line for 2 1/2 hours for mine last year, and was scared of being mugged/raped when I was walking back to the car with mine. Of course, Apple was awesome enough to provide free coffee and breakfast for everyone in line.

I don't see any benefits to buying it in store unless you need a One to One session. Order it online, avoid the hassle.

Come on buki. You know I have the patience of Charlie Sheen standing on top of a mountain of crack. LOL!
