Link? I have read some people don't some things but nothing from any official reviews, just random peoples "reviews"Too buggy to warrant a purchase from what I have been reading.
Well I dont know, I want something but I want it for travel. iphone is too small for movies and books. Laptop is a pain on airplane unless you are in first class, unless you have s small one. A tablet is nice to watch movies, read books, play games etc...

That was my stance for the longest time. Then I had to start using it, supporting it, and developing for it for work, and I have since seen the light. Beyond the obvious, like more comfortable form factor for walking around with or laying down with than a laptop, the benefits are really hard to cite. You just need to use it for a period of time to "get it".
I think if I were to get one, my kid would get the most use out of it. Kids really seem to react well to touch interfaces.
I still don't think it's for everybody, and haters are going to hate no matter what, but the iPad 2 is the first tablet device I've wanted for personal use.

If that is the case why are you even in this thread? It's pretty obvious you will just read reviews until you find one that suits whatever product you are interested in purchasing. Clearly if you would actually read the reviews from any of those sites you would know that the iPad functions better as it stands.
But again it's cool to make fun of Apple. So have at it I guess.

Really I still don't see anything I am ready to buy. I have read reviews on the Xoom and nothing I have read (outside mac reviewers) has said it anywhere are bad as you like make it out to be. Is the Xoom perfect nope and neither is the ipad. The software may be more refined on the ipad and much better for those people not tech savy. It has more apps wow they have another year on the driod, I remember the ipad had this same issue at release. Where ipad comes up short in Hardware (and in someways it wall always come up short). I dont want to have to buy a bunch of adapter cables do to things I may want to do. The lack of ability to really use a SD card (outside the photo import). Why release a iPad with no 4G support, sure its huge deal today but a year from now people will be stuck with 3G or buy another new ipad next year. The xoom is new and may have some software issues but those can be fixed with a patch, lack of hardware can't.
So yeah I have done a lot more thinking on this and have been for a few months.
Right now neither have quite made it to a point they live up to what I want but right now the Xoom has much more potential then the ipad purely based on how the Xooms issues are much easier to correct then the ipads.
Ohh and making fun of apple is not nearly as cool as being a apple nut hugger. But I could care less about being cool because i blindly follow something a company makes.

Now I'm kicking around the idea of picking up a refurb iPad 1 at a decent discount and then upgrading to a 3 next year when the updates will likely be more substantial.
My brain hurts sometimes. People can't process me with a normal brain.

Well I picked it up. Best Buy has a 14 day return exchange policy. So if I get the extreme urge to buy the 2 I will. However, I'm happy with the $100 savings. Now I'm just bummed I have to wait until I get off to use it. I need to connect it to itunes.
